Would you want a data centre near you?
A Singapore company wants to build one not far from where we live on prime black soil farming country. The proposal is for a huge four-building AI/data-centre campus on about 725 hectares, with an estimated full build cost of more than A$31 billion. Anthropic want to use this facility. Do this before your next image Every time an AI image is generated it has impacts on electricity (power station needs), water, CO2 and vegetation. The data varies on the consumption but know it impacts every one of these. Think twice about the efficiency of generating your next image. Spend more time on getting the prompt right (text is a much lighter energy user) and when you have iterated that enough then generate the image. Don’t keep iterating your image. Think twice about doing wasteful image generation. Make every interaction count. On average these data centres are 10s of hectares large (30-100) and have impact on our environment for our children. Be thoughtful now so it’s safe for their future.

@Shelley McDuffie surface and sewing pattern designer. The surface bit is mainly fabric - I design fabric and wallpaper, but I also enjoy designing origami papers. I also design sewing patterns for boys and men. My Camp Collar Shirt was my first pattern and still my most popular. Does that make sense? Sorry Shelley I have only just seen your question.

@Brenda Rigney I tried it - it keeps picking up an old company of mine - nothing new about my current business which has been around since 2022. Strange.
