What is DHCP and How Does It Work?
New post is up for anyone working through the IP Services section of the CCNA! 📡 We broke down exactly how DHCP works, including the DORA process that happens every time your device connects to a network. It's one of those topics that seems simple on the surface but shows up on the exam in some tricky ways. Drop a comment: did you already know about DORA, or was that new to you? https://academy.anythingoverip.com/what-is-dhcp/?ref=skool
What is Quality of Service in Networking?
Ever wondered why your video call drops when someone else starts a big download? That is a QoS problem. I just published a beginner-friendly breakdown of Quality of Service basics, covering how routers prioritize traffic and why it matters for the CCNA exam. Drop a comment if you have run into network congestion issues in a real environment! https://academy.anythingoverip.com/what-is-qos-networking/?ref=skool

What is SSH and Why is it Important for Network Security?
New post is up: What is SSH and Why Does It Matter for Network Security? If you've ever wondered why Telnet is considered a bad idea or what makes SSH the industry standard for remote access, this one's for you. We break down what SSH actually does, why encryption matters, and how it fits into CCNA exam objective 4.8. Drop a comment below: have you ever captured a Telnet session in Wireshark and seen credentials in plain text? What was your reaction? https://academy.anythingoverip.com/what-is-ssh-network-security/?ref=skool

Where I've been, and what's now live
It's been quiet here for a few weeks and there's a reason. Two, actually. The first is that I've been heads-down on work for Cisco — I've just finished building the labs for CLHCT, and I'm about to start the refresh of their IPv6 course. That's the kind of thing that eats evenings. The second is that Cisco announced CCNA 200-301 v2.0, live February 2027. Same exam code, completely rewritten underneath — 6 domains collapsed into 5, 111 objectives down to 59, and the verbs shifted hard from "describe" to "troubleshoot" and "configure". There's also an entire new domain on AI in network operations. I've spent the last stretch mapping every single v2 objective against the material on the site, and that's now live: 👉 academy.anythingoverip.com/ccna-v2-hub/ You can pick your exam version at the top of either hub page. If you're sitting CCNA this year, stay on v1 — nothing changes for you. If you're planning for February onward, v2 shows you exactly which objectives already have material and which are still being written. A few things I found while doing it, which might save you some panic: • Most of what you're studying still counts. About 75% of the existing material maps straight onto a v2 objective. • What's gone: NTP, QoS, network topology types, TCP vs UDP comparison, IPv6 anycast/multicast, JSON and REST APIs. • What's new: agentic AI in network operations, prompt selection for gen-AI tooling, OSPFv3, VRRP, storm control, RA guard, SFTP/SCP, and DNS record-level troubleshooting. • The AI domain is 10% of the exam. That's not a gimmick — you'll be asked to evaluate output from AI assistants and decide whether to act on it. More v2 material is landing every few days. Everything already published stays exactly where it is.
