I know I said I'd be back today at the afternoon class, but alas, I've packed my day too tight. I will try for next Friday to get back with everyone. I miss playing and seeing everyone's progress.

I’ve noticed our Q&A sessions naturally wrap up within about an hour, so going forward we’ll keep our calls to a focused one-hour format. This keeps things efficient and impactful, and it also makes the recordings easier to revisit since I’m building an archive of these sessions for future students. As the group grows, we can always extend call times if needed so everyone gets the support they need. Also, remember the happy hour we did a couple months ago? I’d like to bring something like that back as a regular thing. I’m calling it the UGM Green Room — a relaxed backstage-style hang where we can talk music, share wins from the month, and just connect a bit. No agenda, just good company. We’ll meet on the last Thursday of each month at 8:15pm. Join if you can! Looking forward to both the focused learning and the hang time together.

The next couple weeks we are going to all jam on Knockin' On Heavens Door on the calls. Rhythm and lead. Best way to practice would be to play along with the recording. The song is in G major so the best option for soloing is to use the open G major scale in lesson 5.2. I'd also love for all of us to be able to jam the blues. Start with the open version in the blues shuffle side course. Once that feels good you can move to moveable and jam the blues in any key. 🙌🎸💙

Hey gang, I think I found a way to get our evening call started earlier. It would mean moving to Tuesdays at 6:30pm CST and then Fridays at 1pm CST to allow for a couple days in-between. What do you all think of this move?
