Okay, I need to share this with you guys because I am literally crying, kicking and screaming inside… 😭 I am SO fucking proud of my boys. They were absolutely incredible at today’s Belluna Dome Encore for Blaze The Way, especially because this was such a special and important day for &TEAM and LUNÉ. September 3rd was their 4th anniversary, and every year my Teamies organize something called En-Day [縁 DAY], where they do different kinds of covers. Last year, we got that famous infamous dance cover by K, Fuma and Yuma, and today they did covers again… For a whole week, or maybe even longer, we basically kept seeing THAT photo everywhere. Of course, some anti-LUNÉs or honestly, just haters immediately started calling them misogynistic and throwing around all kinds of horrible words. And honestly, my heart hurts every time I see people judging my boys before they have even done anything. I could say SO much more about the amount of unnecessary hate &TEAM receives and how people constantly find ridiculous reasons to attack them, but I think I’ll save that for another post because otherwise this one is going to turn into a whole fucking essay 😭 BUT THAT IS NOT EVEN WHAT I CAME HERE TO TALK ABOUT. So, to sum it up, we LUNÉs saw that photo and already knew that one of those legs had to be Euijoo’s. 😭 I honestly thought the cover was going to be Maki, Euijoo and Harua — aka the most baby-girl-coded members 😭 and I was also convinced they were going to do Girls’ Generation’s “Gee.” BUT I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT EXPECT THE FINAL LINE-UP TO BE EUIJOO, NICHOLAS AND FUMA. I mean… HELLO???? Fuma and Nicholas are literally some of the most masculine-looking members, so I was NOT prepared to see these two dancing to Girls’ Generation, especially GEE. Like HELLO???? They are SO fucking girl-coded. I am sorry, but they literally look like the Powerpuff Girls. 😭😭😭 And the fact that the three of them actually COMMITTED to the concept??? I WAS GONE. The confidence. The expressions. The choreography. THE MOVES. And when it comes to fucking girl-group covers, they have NEVER disappointed. They never disrespect the original artists, they always put so much effort into the choreography, and they are absolutely NOT misogynistic. They respect women, they respect the songs, and they respect the original choreography. Doing feminine choreography does NOT make them less masculine. Being cute does not make them weak. They are performers, dancers and artists, and they should be allowed to explore every side of themselves. They can be masculine, feminine, cute, elegant, silly, emotional, dramatic or completely ridiculous, and THAT is one of the things I love most about &TEAM. They are fucking versatile. So to all the people who judged them before they even performed the cover: SHAME ON YOU. You had NO IDEA what they were going to do and had already decided what kind of people they were based on one fucking photo. And then they went on stage and completely proved you wrong.
