Thankyou
Hi everyone, I wanted to thank you for being part of Aurora Wellbeing. Over the past few months I've been reflecting on where I can make the biggest difference. Because of that, I've made the difficult decision to close this community. Thank you so much for your support, your encouragement and for being part of this journey. I genuinely appreciate every one of you and wish you all the very best for the future. I will stay around in other groups so hopefully I will see some of you there. Thankyou again. Take care, Jo

One thing I wish I'd known before becoming an IDVA...
When I first became an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate, I genuinely believed that if I worked hard enough, cared enough, and never gave up, I could make things better for everyone. The truth was much harder. I quickly learned that even with the best intentions, we can't always change someone's situation. Sometimes there isn't enough evidence. Sometimes there aren't enough resources. Sometimes waiting lists are too long. Sometimes systems fail. And sometimes people simply aren't ready for help yet. That doesn't mean professionals don't care. It doesn't mean the person asking for help has failed. It means that real life is often far more complicated than we expect. One of the biggest lessons I learned was that our role isn't to rescue people. It's to stand beside them, provide information, help them understand their options, and support them to make the safest decisions they can at the time. That can be incredibly difficult, because when you care deeply, you want to fix everything. But none of us can. Whether you're a survivor wondering why professionals couldn't "just do something," or you're someone working in a helping profession yourself, please remember this: Most people are doing the best they can with the resources, time and powers they have. Some professionals are exceptional. Some aren't. But no professional can solve every problem alone. Looking back, I wish someone had told me that earlier. It would have made me a kinder professional—and probably a kinder person to myself too. I'd love to hear your thoughts. If you've ever worked in a helping profession, what is one lesson you wish you'd known before you started?

💜 A Little Update About Aurora Wellbeing
Over the next few weeks I'll be introducing some exciting changes to Aurora Wellbeing. When I first created this community, my goal was simply to create a safe, supportive place for people to connect. Over time, many of you have asked for more in-depth guidance, workshops and practical resources, and I've realised that I have so much more I'd love to share. To make that possible in a sustainable way, Aurora Wellbeing will be introducing membership options alongside the free community. 🌿 Community (Free) Our free community will continue to be available for anyone who simply wants a safe, supportive place to connect and learn. Our free community isn't going anywhere. It will continue to include: - General discussion - Weekly tips - Announcements - A supportive, judgement-free space - Community conversations ⭐ Aurora Plus – £19/month Designed for those wanting more in-depth support, including all courses, monthly workshops, recordings, digital safety resources and priority Q&A sessions. Members will receive access to: - All courses - Monthly live workshops - Workshop recordings - Digital safety resources - Priority Q&A sessions - The full Aurora learning library as it grows Some of the workshops I'm planning include: - Staying safe online - Understanding your digital footprint - Managing difficult professionals - Parent alienation - Child-to-parent abuse - Rebuilding after trauma - When you've been let down by the systems that were supposed to help - Practical ways to rebuild confidence and control - Why diagnoses can feel life-changing. - The risk of allowing one label to become your entire identity. 💜 Aurora Guided – £99/month For those wanting ongoing personalised support, including monthly coaching, priority support and additional member benefits. - Everything in Aurora Plus - A 60-minute coaching session per month - Priority email support (responses within 1–2 working days) - Discounts on the Aurora Digital Privacy Review - Priority booking for additional sessions

@Mahmoud Mahmoud Thank you
I need your help, I am suffering.
I suffer from a pain in my head, as if someone is thinking about me, obsessed with me, or watching me. This pain in my head is a very annoying feeling, especially when it stems from certain people, toxic relationships, or individuals I do not want to be with. Please help me with this, as this pain and my mind being preoccupied with these thoughts prevent me from focusing on my life.

@Mahmoud Mahmoud I'm sorry you're experiencing this. Unfortunately I can't safely assess individual situations within the community. If these experiences are continuing or becoming more distressing, I'd really encourage you to speak with your GP or a mental health professional who can explore this with you properly.
