From Gift to Calling and Sustaining the Wall
🔥 FROM GIFT TO CALLING Tonight we learned that there is a difference between operating in a prophetic gift and carrying a recognized prophetic calling. Please read these statements carefully, then answer the questions in the comments. KEY STATEMENTS 1. There is a difference between prophesying and being called as a prophet. 2. There is a difference between experiencing a gift and carrying a responsibility. 3. There is a difference between having an accurate moment and living a faithful life. 4. God can use someone in a moment before that person is ready to carry a public calling. 5. A gift can operate through a person while their character, identity, discipline, and accountability are still being formed. 6. This does not make the gift false. It means the person is still in formation. 7. Our goal is not to produce people who are excited about titles. Our goal is to form people whose lives can carry the weight of what God has placed upon them. 8. Every Spirit filled believer may prophesy, but not everyone carries the same prophetic responsibility, function, or calling. 9. Operating in prophecy may happen during a particular moment. Carrying a prophetic calling becomes an ongoing responsibility. 10. A calling is not a status symbol or a reward for being more spiritual than someone else. It is a responsibility to equip and build the Body of Christ. 11. If a person wants the title but does not want the responsibility, correction, sacrifice, or accountability, they are not ready for the calling. 12. A prophetic gift may bring encouragement to someone. A prophetic calling may require a person to help train, equip, warn, guide, and strengthen an entire community. 13. A gift may operate occasionally. A calling must remain dependable. 14. A gift may bring a word. A calling must also help create an environment where other people can hear, grow, and mature. 15. Accuracy alone does not prove readiness. 16. Someone may accurately perceive something while still needing formation.

Thank you Derick, this is very good info to receive. I want to thank you for pouring into us so faithfully.
WATCH THE CITY AND GIVE THE WORD EXPRESSION
Questions 1. What adjustment would help you sustain a prayer watch? 2. Which part of your city has God placed on your heart? 3. How do truth and mercy work together in intercession? 4. Which expression is most natural for you: spoken, sung, written, or physical? 5. How should this community test a word before releasing it publicly? Activation: Watch, write, release, agree First minute: Identify the place Say: “Ask the Holy Spirit to highlight one real place in your community. Write its name.” It may be a neighborhood, school, workplace, congregation, hospital, or household. Second minute: Listen and write Ask: “Lord, what burden should I bring before You?” “Lord, what redemptive purpose should I pray in agreement with?” Write one sentence of prayer. Participants can label impressions as impressions rather than claiming certainty. Third minute: Share and test Invite two participants to read their sentences. Ask: - Does this agree with Scripture? - Does it reflect the character of Jesus? - Does it direct us toward faithful prayer and obedience? Fourth minute: Respond together Invite those who agree to raise their hands and pray: “Father, we bring this place before You. Let Your truth, mercy, righteousness, and peace be revealed here. Help us obey the part You have entrusted to us

1. I think to step more consistently into a prayer watch, I need to purposely, intentionally set my heart to seek and meet Holy Spirit in the 3am-6am watch. I am not as distracted in that watch and I feel like I hear and see better before I get up in the morning. 2. I am drawn to pray over my county, Tarrant County. It feels like the regional area is what I continue to be drawn towards. 3. God’s truths are absolute, and mercy brings love into the application of truth. The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23. Mercy helps me to pray more from His perspective and from a place of grace. 4. It is the spoken word intercession that is predominant in my life. But when in deep intercession, I can easily flow into the written word, sing out songs in the Spirit, and perform physical prophetic acts. 5. As an individual, I desire to confirm any prophetic word I receive is congruent with the Word of God. I don’t feel you always have to add a scripture to a prophetic word. You give what you get. I think words released within the community, or words released during classes can be quickly embraced as given as long as it bears witness with your spirit and you feel led (have a green light) to share it. Having said that- to take that released word and tarry over it, to pray into it, is an honor. To see layers of revelation develop and added to the original word through spending time with Him is pleasing to Him.
Go Deep, Then Sound Clearly
1. Where are you most tempted to skim? 2. Do you rush interpretation, rush delivery, or move on before an impression has been tested? 1. Can you remember a time when God gave you a word primarily to change you? 2. What practice would help you stay with God longer before speaking? 3. How can our community honor depth without making the final release confusing or overly complicated? Chapter 7 gives a practical structure for a responsible alarm. First, state what God is revealing as plainly as possible. Second, explicitly reject fear and panic. Third, give specific actions. Pray for what? Repent of what? Prepare how? Speak to whom? Wait for what? Fourth, identify the correct audience. Some burdens belong in private prayer. Some belong in the counsel of mature leaders. Some belong to a local congregation or city. Only some belong on a public platform. 1. What makes a prophetic warning clear rather than vague? 2. How can we tell whether a warning belongs in prayer, in leadership counsel or in public? 3. What damage occurs when a warning is released without instruction? Activation: Search, Shape and Sound Step one: Search for two minutes. Ask the Holy Spirit, What are You saying to strengthen, protect or prepare this community or city? Remain quiet. Write only what you receive. Do not interpret yet. Step two: Test for two minutes. Write a Scripture that aligns with the impression. Ask whether the word reflects the nature and purposes of Jesus. Ask whether any part may be coming from fear, assumption or current news. Step three: Shape for two minutes. Put the word into four short lines: What is God highlighting? Why should we not fear? What specific response is He asking for? Who is the intended audience? Step four: Sound for one minute. Was the sound clear? Was there practical direction? Did the word produce faith and readiness rather than fear? Was the intended audience clear?

In my life, I would be more prone to skim when it applies to me. This is an area during my worship, study and prayer time that I’m learning to slow down and tarry in. It’s my desire to press in, to go deeper with Him and take more time to hear for myself. That has been stretching me. And I’m learning to REST IN HIM. If I don’t give an impression or scripture the time it truly deserves for myself, it is comforting to know I walk in grace, and that He is such a perfect and faithful teacher to me. Holy Spirit will continue to expand on and counsel, teach me- and I can trust Him to get my attention until I get a hold of what He’s saying. I would say in everyday life I don’t typically rush through interpretation, delivery or impression. Personally, it is easier to hold back and not rush to give words or messages out because of how He has wired me. But I want to steward what He releases for others (and myself) well and in His time. Rushing, for me, more often occurs when I’m in a prophetic class- (I know we are being stretched and the assignments are designed to pull out and activate the prophetic gifting from deep within us) but this is the setting where I’m prone to speak before I fully process. I’m grateful for the grace to stretch and practice in that setting. Personally, it is easier to hold back and not rush to give words or messages out because of how He has wired me. I am more of a feeler, seer. I sense, I hear- and then see pictures, and those feelings, images and sounds, words NEED interpretation understanding, and revelation. It takes me time more often than not. I need to sit with Him and pray, study and consider, understand what it means that I’m being shown. Thankfully, over the years He has developed the language He uses with me, and I’ve come to understand it, and expand His language. Of course He continues to add more, line upon line, precept upon precept. And He changes things up so I keep trusting Him and not just run with what I “know.” After a lot of practice throughout the years, it’s become easier to know when to release or hold what He has given.
