Your ADHD brain 🧠 craves novelty. That's not a flaw, it's fuel. Next time you're stuck avoiding something, don't force more willpower. Change the scenery instead. That was me this morning. I promised myself a jog on the trails in the woods nearby. Quiet, peaceful, the kind of run that calms my mind. But the motivation just wasn't there. So I implemented a technique that I suggest to my clients and added some novelty. I decided to jog through a cemetery a few blocks away instead, one I'd never explored before and it became an instant adventure. 🏃 Cemeteries have always been a strange kind of sanctuary for me. I've jogged them, ridden my motorcycle through them, even taught my son to drive in one. There's a stillness there that most places don't have. That small shift, same goal, different scenery, was all it took. I ended up jogging and walking for 45 minutes. Longer than I planned, and I even caught some of it on video for an IG post. You can find the IG post here as well.
