First look at our origin story series for PAIN.T
Build it and they will come. There is no secret cheat code in this business it’s the momentum built over time of small actions until there big actions. The ocean doesn’t cut through the rock it’s the consistent drop of water that doesn’t stop that carves the way

@Monika Kuszpyt Hahaha I love that reference! 🤣 Really appreciate the excitement and support. We’re building something special and it’s awesome having people along for the journey before everyone else gets to see it. Can’t wait to share more soon! 🚀
Finding work.
Glad to join. I'm an older actor so finding roles is difficult. I also do ventriloquism. Suggestions?

Great to have you here! Being an older actor can actually be a strength — there are so many roles that require life experience, character, authority and unique skills that younger actors can’t bring. My suggestion would be to keep building the craft while creating your own opportunities. Start filming yourself regularly short scenes, monologues, character pieces, and performances that showcase your ventriloquism. Build a portfolio that highlights what makes you different rather than trying to fit into every casting category. I’d also look at specialising in voice-over work. Your ventriloquism background is a huge advantage because it shows vocal control, character creation and performance range. Create a voice reel featuring different characters, narration styles, commercials, animation-style performances, audiobook samples and even video game character voices. Then start approaching voice agencies, casting platforms and production companies. Beyond traditional acting roles, explore areas where your unique skills can stand out like commercials, corporate videos, audiobook narration, animation, video games, character voices and online content. These industries are constantly looking for distinctive performers with personality and range. The key is creating proof of your ability. A strong body of work online can open doors actors are getting discovered through self-tapes, social content and unique skills all the time. Treat yourself as both the actor and the creator, and build a portfolio that makes people think, “we need this person.”

@Josh Li Welcome! Great to have you here! That's an awesome mix of experience, and it's exciting to have someone from both the LA and New York film scenes in the community. I also love that you've come from a sports background there's a lot of crossover with the discipline and teamwork that filmmaking demands. Dark comedies and dramas are right up my alley too. Looking forward to checking out your directing reel and seeing what you're working on. Hope you get to connect with plenty of people here and collaborate on some great projects. Welcome to JÁEN Academy!

I hope this community becomes a place where you not only sharpen your craft but also build lasting friendships and exciting collaborations. Looking forward to seeing more of your work and getting to know you. Welcome aboard!
