Who’s coming to today’s meetup?
This Thursday: Your Logo Isn't Your Brand
OK then... what the hell is branding? We hear "brand" and immediately think logo, website, colors, maybe a positioning statement. But your brand is really what people say about you when you're not there. If I asked one of your clients, "Who's Sarah? What is she great at? What kind of work does she do? Why would I hire her?" Whatever they say is a pretty good indication of the brand you've already built. So this Thursday, we're going to actually work on it. We'll look at what your work, website, reel, LinkedIn, and clients currently say about you. Do they all tell the same story? Then we'll dig into what you want to be known for, what you're genuinely great at, and where that overlaps with what the market actually needs. Bring your website, reel, LinkedIn, or anything else you use to present yourself. We're going to do some real exercises together and see what we uncover. Thursday at 10AM PT No logo redesign required. 🙂

Thursday: What Are You Working On?
I’m trying something a little different this Thursdays meetup. I want to open things up and give the community more time to share, connect, and honestly just get to know each other better. We’ve built an incredible group. Every week I look around the Zoom and I’m kind of amazed by the experience, talent, and perspective in the room. So this week: no big presentation. No slides. Instead, let’s spend the hour talking about what we’re all actually working on right now. What’s going well? What’s not? What are you building? Are you stuck on something? Rethinking your website? Working on a new offer? Trying to land a client? Maybe you just had a great week and want to share a win. Bring it. I’ll get us started by sharing a few things I’m working through myself — a win, a loss, and something I’m currently a little stuck on — and then we’ll open it up. And you absolutely don’t have to bring anything. Come hang out, listen, and jump in when you want. Thursday at 10am PT. What are you working on? Come tell us Thursday. The links in the calender.

Thursday: What Are You Working On?
Whos Joining us Tomorrow Morning?
We all get asked... "So... what do you do?" If I'm honest, my first reaction is usually that I'm being measured. But lately I've been thinking about that question a little differently. At least in a business setting, I don't think people are really asking what you do. I think they're asking, "Can you help me?" Or maybe even, "Should I remember you?" That feels like a more useful way to think about it. And just to be clear, I'm talking about business conversations here. If your uncle asks you at Thanksgiving, that's a completely different thing. But I'm in LA, and some of the best opportunities I've ever had have started with a casual conversation at a backyard BBQ where someone asked, "So... what do you do?" That's why I think this question matters. This Thursday we're going to spend some time thinking about why that question matters, and how to answer it in a way that's clear, memorable, and genuinely useful. Not an elevator pitch. Just a simple, honest way of talking about what you do that helps people immediately understand who you help and what people hire you to do. Here's what I think is really interesting. This conversation is the foundation for almost everything else. Your website. Your positioning. Your LinkedIn profile. Even how you introduce yourself on a Zoom call. Get really good at explaining what you do in a casual conversation, and all those other pieces suddenly become a whole lot easier. Sometimes the biggest opportunities in your career start with the smallest question.

This Thursdays Meetup
Hey everyone! I'm gearing up for what I think is going to be a really fun live Meetup this Thursday morning, and I hope you can make it. This week I'm going to break down exactly how I research a company before I ever reach out. We'll look at the "buying signals" that tell me whether a brand is actually worth pursuing, where I find those signals, and how I start thinking about a long-term relationship instead of just sending another cold email. We'll walk through the process live using a real company as an example, and I think it'll change the way you think about finding new clients. Thursday • 10:00 AM PT The Zoom link is in the Calendar. Hope to see you there!
