Hit the "Notify Me" button on this page: link Check out the book cover art draft! - what do you think? === THE STORY === Remember the movie Troy with Brad Pitt as Achilles? It's based on Homer's Iliad, one of the greatest stories ever told. When I read it, I was surprised to find they'd cut a key character from the film entirely: The King of Argos, Diomēdēs boēn agathos (translated: Diomedes of the War Cry) He'd been cut because he'd steal the spotlight from shining Achilles. The Iliad is composed of 24 books, and Achilles only starts fighting in book 20. Until that point, it is Diomedes who is leading the charge - in his aristea. Among all the heroes in the Iliad, it is only Diomedes who fights directly against the Gods - his spearpoint drawing blood from Aphrodite's wrist. Later he lances Ares, the god of war - sending him running from the battlefield. He was with Odysseus in the belly of the Trojan Horse as it was wheeled into the doomed city of Troy. I enjoyed reading the Iliad so much that I had to research what happened to each of the key characters after the war. Swift-Footed Achilles, as we know, died from the arrow wound to his heel. Mighty Ajax succumbed to madness, and fell upon his own sword in shame. Far-Ruling King Agamemnon went home after the war - only to be stabbed and drowned in his own bath by his adulterous wife. Cunning Odysseus yearns to return home, but the Gods blast him with storms and perils of every kind - as we see in the Odyssey. But what of Diomedes? We don't really know! His story was lost because when the Trojan War ended, the World ended with it. This 400 year Dark Age is known as the Bronze Age Collapse. Every major civilization of the Mediterranean - civilizations that had survived for hundreds of years, flickered - and went out. The Egyptians, the Mycenaean Greeks, the Hittites, the Assyrians, the Canaanites. All gone.

Kaal the draft is impeccable, I don't think there's a single thing to change about it. It caught my attention and swiftly wrapped around me the more I read it. Truly, by the end I felt sad that there weren't more pieces of information on Diomedes and what happened to him following the fall of Troy. It's exciting to see what will come of this. If you have any ideas, pieces of writing that you would like to run by someone else, I would gladly aid you and do it for you.

I'm going to do 100 hrs of Meditation in 10 Days
Months ago, one of the Advisory members made this post (attached below). When I read it, I thought "that's something I want to do someday". But instead of putting it off for "someday", I decided to exercise my agency. I will be going on Monday. === ORIGINAL POST === Credits: Ari N. Yes, it’s true. I meditated for 10 days straight. In this post, I recap my lifechanging experience with a 10-day silent Vipassana meditation course. TLDR: I completed a 10-day silent Vipassana meditation retreat (completely free, no phones/talking, 10+ hours of daily meditation). It taught me that my reactions to life cause my suffering, not life itself, and I’m noticeably less miserable and reactive now. It’s the practical application of Stoicism we all talk about but rarely practice. 🧘 CONTEXT Have you ever fantasized about just dropping everything and becoming a mindful monk? A 10-day Vipassana meditation course (which actually spans 12 calendar days) gives you a true taste of that life. These courses are COMPLETELY FREE to anyone. You are provided with delicious food and comfortable accommodations so that you can dedicate 100% of your energy toward the practice. Vipassana is: A technique to help eradicate the suffering you face on a daily basis (even the suffering you aren't yet conscious of). A method of mental purification that allows you to face life’s tensions and problems in a calm, balanced way. An "art of living" that you can use to make positive contributions to society. To keep the environment pure, no reading or writing materials, phones, verbal or non-verbal communication with other students, outside food, intoxicants, or nicotine are allowed during the course. 🧘 THE EXPERIENCE On the first day, you arrive in the late afternoon, share a light meal, gather for a teaching session, and end the evening with your first group meditation. (The first image below is of the meditation hall, and the second is of the Pagoda at the center). Bedtime is between 9:00 and 9:30 pm, and you are awoken by a bell at 4:00 am sharp. The first meditation of the day begins at 4:30 am. (See the third image for the full course timetable).

the kind of focus that scares people
I made this new video to act as a weapon. It is a hefty cleaver designed to chop through all the bullshit. The excuses. The pivots. The copes. The fear that you're wasting your time. The fear that everybody else is getting ahead while you're stuck. This video is highly logical and strategic. It is for you if you want clarity and courage, but you don't want some waffling pep-talk. This is the message you need to hear right now. Trust. Lux in Tenebris, KR PS: Pls give feedback on this video - what worked well? what could be done better? did it help you? in what way?

I really enjoyed your usage of dialogue, it really stuck with me in the first half of the video even though I was working out and feeling as though I was on a time crunch. It felt as though it flowed very well, the way your delivery hit kept my attention and made me question what you were going to say next. It wasn't so much the case in the second half where I felt things were becoming more apparent, but I stuck it out because candidly you have a nice voice to listen to. I can recognize you're getting better at story telling and there are subtle differences compared to what you would do before, though I wouldn't be able to point it out unless I went through your past videos to find where you've grown.
