Early Season, Not Where You Want to Be? Read This.
The season just started. Lines are changing, your coach is trying different combinations, and you might not be where you hoped you'd be. Maybe you're on the third line when you expected the second. Maybe you're not getting the power play time you wanted. Maybe you're a healthy scratch. I've been on both sides of this, as a player and now as a coach. Here's what I know: 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡'𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭. The lineup you see in week one is rarely the lineup in month three. What coaches do notice right now: - 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐲, not just on game day. - 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 whether they're playing 20 minutes or 2 - 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 when it's not going their way - 𝐖𝐡𝐨'𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 without sulking You don't need the "C" to lead. You lead by being the first one in line for an exercice, the one who competes in every drill, the one who lifts her teammates up. Do that, and your role tends to take care of itself. Control what you can control: your effort, your attitude, your preparation. Let your work speak. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧: What's one thing you can do this week to show up for your team, whatever your role right now? Drop it below. 👇

⚖️ Student-Athlete Balance: How Do YOU Do It?
Early morning skates. Homework at 11pm. A test tomorrow and practice tonight. If you're a student-athlete, you know the juggle is real. Two things that help me stay grounded when school and sport are both pulling hard: 𝟏. 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬. Deadlines, due dates, practice times, games — get them all in one place before Monday hits. A clear plan takes the guesswork (and the panic) out of the week. 𝟐. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝟓-𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐭. Between the rink and the books — or between periods of a game — take five minutes to breathe, stretch, or just sit in silence. It's not wasted time. It's what keeps you sharp for what's next. There's no perfect system. Everyone finds their own rhythm. 👇 𝐒𝐨 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 — 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞? What's your go-to trick for staying present and not letting the stress pile up? Drop it in the comments — your answer might be exactly what another athlete in this community needs to hear today.
🏒 USPORTS: The League Nobody's Talking About (But Should Be)
I played USports hockey at the University of Montreal — and I'll be honest, before I got there I thought NCAA was the only option because I didn't fully realize how good the hockey actually was. Here's the thing nobody tells you: USports is no longer the "backup plan" to NCAA. The skill level, the coaching, the intensity — it's climbing fast and it rivals NCAA D1/D3 programs in the States. If you're a young athlete only looking south of the border, you might be sleeping on a league that's a serious option. 🗳️ We'd love to know more about your interests in playing in the USports world! Answer the poll to give us an idea of where you are at in that thought process. 𝐖𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬? (If you voted 𝗡𝗢 — drop a comment on why! Genuinely curious to know what's holding people back.)

Hey everyone - it's Kaleigh 👋
I'm Kaleigh, one of the co-founders of Pro Path and I wanted to introduce myself to our amazing Pro Path community. I'm currently a professional hockey player based in Switzerland and a member of the Swiss National Team. I've had the privilege of competing at the Olympics twice, most recently bringing home a bronze medal in 2026 — something I still pinch myself about. Growing up in Switzerland, I played my youth years in boys hockey, which shaped me in ways I didn't fully appreciate until much later. From there, I did a PG year at a prep school in Connecticut, which I thought would to lead to opportunities to play DI hockey, "the ultimate dream" that was stuck in my head. However, due to recruiting realities, research and different opportunities, I decided to head to Canada and compete in the USports league at the University of Montreal — where I eventually graduated with a degree in Teaching and had an absolute blast as a student-athlete. My journey has been anything but a straight line. Which is exactly why Pro Path exists. I know firsthand how hard it is to figure out where you want to go with hockey — and how much it matters to have someone in your corner who's actually lived it. Not just parents or friends who love you, but someone who's navigated the decisions, the doubts, and the doors you didn't know existed. That's what I want to be for you. I'm deeply passionate about helping the next generation of athletes stop guessing and start building their own path — with clarity, confidence, and a lot of excitement for what's ahead. So happy to be here. Can't wait to get to know each of you. 🏒 Comment below with a small intro on who you are, what you are passionate about and what your goals are 💯

What impedes us, can empower us.
Every athlete hits a wall. Cut from a team. Losing your spot. An injury at the worst time. Wondering if you're even good enough. Here's what no one tells you: that wall isn't the end of the road — it IS the road. Ryan Holiday said it best in The Obstacle Is the Way — what stands in the way, becomes the way. The coach who doubted you sharpened your edge. The season you didn't play taught you to see the game differently. Every setback was quietly building you. The athletes who make it aren't the ones who avoided struggle. They're the ones who let it shape them. So next time you hit that wall, don't ask "why is this happening to me?" Ask "what is this making me into?" 💬 Your turn — What's one obstacle you're facing right now, or one you've already flipped upside down? Drop it in the comments below and you might realize that you aren't the only one going through something👇
