When You Feel More Emotional Than Before Sometimes, as healing begins, emotions can feel stronger—not weaker. This can be confusing. You may wonder, “Why am I feeling more emotional if I’m getting better?” When the body has been focused on surviving, many times it suppresses emotions that feel too overwhelming to process. As your nervous system begins to experience greater safety, those emotions may regain access to your awareness. Feeling more does not necessarily mean things are getting worse. It may mean you are becoming more present and connected to yourself. This week, gently notice how emotions show up as sensations in your body. Perhaps there is tightness in your chest, warmth in your face, heaviness in your stomach, or tension in your shoulders. You do not have to fix the feeling or understand it immediately. Sit with it as you are able, breathe, and become curious: What might my body be helping me notice? Your body whispers before it screams. Sometimes, healing begins when we feel safe enough to listen. Have you noticed your feelings more?
