I spilled coffee on my computer …
I had to turn my computer off. But not much went on my computer so I’m hopeful that things will get back to normal tomorrow. This means I have to take a forced break which is not a bad thing because I’ve been driving this community and directory nonstop for a few months, but I’m excited about what’s coming good things for all of us so I apologize for my delayed answers and I’m hopeful that everything‘s gonna go back to normal tomorrow, Wednesday. Oh, by the way, don’t put a cup of coffee near your computer.

I'm always wondering how many times I have to learn that lesson before it will stick forever.
AIFD now has a page for investors (and here's why that's big for you)
Quick one, but it's a big one. As of today, the AI Filmmakers Directory has a page built just for investors: https://aifilmmakersdirectory.com/pages/ai-film-investors Here's why I'm fired up about it. Until now, AIFD has been where producers, agencies and brands come to hire AI filmmakers. That's working. Jobs are coming in, members are getting booked, and one of our own just signed a studio deal off an intro that started right here. But hiring is only part of where the money is. Funds, angels, family offices, studios and streamers are putting serious money into AI film right now. I track it every week. And most of them have no idea where to find the creators and projects worth backing. So now we're showing them. What's on the page: Investor Watch, our weekly roundup of who's funding AI film. Public sources, every item linked. A free listing for investors, funds, studios and producers who want the right projects to find them. They can go public or stay anonymous. A first look at the AIFD IP Showcase (coming soon), where writers and IP owners will present their projects to producers and investors. What this means for you: Every investor, producer and business that lands on AIFD is one click from the search. Which means one click from your profile. The more of them we bring in, the more eyes on your work. That's the whole game. AIFD is becoming the place where the people with projects and the people with budgets actually meet. Now, the honest part. When those people search, Pro profiles show up first and show the most. If someone with a checkbook is scrolling, you want to be at the top, not on page 4. So here's what I'd do this week: 1. Get your profile "investor-ready." Real bio, your best reel, real credits. If it's half-empty, fix it now. 2. If you're not Pro yet, this is the moment. $150/year (or $24/month), right from your AIFD dashboard. 3. Own a script, a series, a world? Go to the page, fill out the form, and pick "IP owner / writer" to get on the IP Showcase waitlist early.

This is amazing.
Quick behind-the-scenes on how I'm using Claude Code to edit
Remember the Claude Code + Higgsfield class I recorded with Sean? It ran 1 hour 47 minutes. Raw. Lots of good stuff in there... and lots of us fumbling with logins, screen-share glitches, and me hunting for a tab I'd closed. Normally that's an afternoon of scrubbing through a timeline. Instead I told Claude Code, in plain English... from my phone. I wasn't even at my desk. I gave every instruction remotely, and Claude Code did all the work on my desktop computer (transcribing, scanning the video, building the edit). Here's what I told it: - transcribe it and make a rough cut in Cutroom (the editor Claude built for me, live, in that same class) - cut the dead spaces, but leave 15 frames of handle on each side of every cut, don't cut tight on the words - don't cut silent moments where we're navigating on screen, people need to SEE how it's done - look at the big picture and cut the stuff we wasted time on that turned out to be easy in hindsight (permissions, login loops, etc.) It transcribed the whole thing, scanned the video frame by frame to see when the screen was actually moving, read the full conversation, and came back with this report. Here it is, just reformatted for Skool: --- The rough cut is ready in Cutroom: "Claude Code + Higgsfield Class w/ Sean (Rough Cut)". It runs 75.7 minutes, down from 107, in 57 clips. I haven't watched it back or exported it. What got cut: - The 12 detours, about 30 minutes in total: 00:00-13:02 Pre-show chat, slow Higgsfield login, closing tabs and apps. Opens on "Hi everybody, we are today with Sean Rubin" 15:24-16:38 The "I don't have DaVinci" / CapCut detour before setup 17:19-25:14 Failed auth attempts: /mcp, searching Connectors in the desktop app, Apollo picked by mistake 26:05-28:36 Link-pasting back and forth before the fix 49:54-50:13 Voice-input test that didn't come through 50:17-50:25 "I was distracted, tell me again" 58:45-59:43 Screen-share glitch; video not visible, re-sharing 1:00:12-1:00:36 Stopping and restarting the screen share

@Alex Vachon I too get amazed with every task I set for Claude. Husband is currently redoing his (complex) to do list and has created an interactive dashboard and is integrating both of ours for a more seamless adaptation of our two workflows/areas of responsibility and coordinating outside tasks/responsibilities/events.
Installing Filmmakers Studio on my PC came with BONUS
Alex asked if I'd hop on a Zoom with him and Sean. They needed to see how the Filmmakers Studio setup would work on a PC, and Alex knew that's what I have. I said sure. Honestly, I didn't know exactly what I was getting into — but Alex has helped me so much this past year that it was an easy yes. I figured 30 minutes. About an hour in, I started to realize this was way more than I thought. Then my husband came in — we were supposed to be doing something else by then — took one look at my screen and exclaimed, "They're installing a Claude CLI on your PC! That's what I want!" It was about two hours before we were done. And in those two hours, Alex and Sean upgraded my AI game exponentially. But here's the part I really want to tell you about. The next day I decided to put Claude through its paces. I had a website in progress — fairly simple, but way above my skill set. Someone was building it for me and my job was to test the features, and I was getting lost. I also had other people testing it and no idea how to compile all of that into anything useful. WELL. Claude went through the site and really dove into every aspect of it. Then it rolled in the comments and experiences from my other testers. The report looked amazing to me. We carefully crafted the order and the priorities and all of that. And my builder phoo phooed most of what was reported and basically refused to fix it. He had never really listened to what I wanted anyhow. This site is for a specific niche community that I know very well, and there were basic priorities that had never been addressed. Claude talked me through it, and I decided to stop there with the builder. The next morning, Claude and I set to work on the site ourselves. Less than 72 hours later I had an MVP. My community is testing it right now, and Claude is still helping me with the glitches and the suggestions. It is amazing. I love it. I feel like the sky is the limit. Alex — thank you. I hopped on that call as a favor to a friend and walked away with something that has genuinely changed how I work. Tremendous ROI on what was mostly just a favor. Sean, thank you too.

@Alex Vachon Dude, I've been rewarded beyond my wildest dreams for saying yes to that!!! lol Okay, next question, and if this is covered in the course, I definitely need to go through it - Skool creator has hours of live teaching videos, needs to create Youtube content that will get seen, Claude can help, yes?

@Alex Vachon Funny you should ask...I'm getting lots of questions from putting that map on my Facebook feed and then a funny song about it - I don't think I posted that here - and how Claude helped me write that. Well, got a friend who has been successful in Hollywood who has a script and needs a storyboard so he was asking me if Claude could help with that. I think we may finally be approaching the Early Majority adoption stage though even that is very uneven. So many people I know did a couple shallow things with AI and now avoid it. They think.
☕ Sunday Story: The First Microdrama Showrunner
Once upon a time, a woman named Scheherazade had to tell the king a story every single night to stay alive. So she did something clever. She never finished the story. Every night she stopped right at the good part, and the king HAD to come back tomorrow. She kept that up for 1,001 nights. Which makes her the first microdrama showrunner in history. 😄 Cliffhangers aren't a new trick. They're the oldest trick there is. You're just doing it with better tools. ☕ My Sunday report OK, your turn's coming. But first, here's what I've been up to behind the scenes this week (and the last few). All of it has one goal: getting you found, seen and hired. 🔍 GETTING YOU FOUND BY EMPLOYERS • Plain-English search is LIVE. Employers can now type something like "microdrama director in LA who uses Kling" and the directory finds the right people. Works by city too. • The Advanced Search widget now pulls real results from the directory. Pro profiles show up first. • The Listing Labels module is up. 132 labels, and why honest tagging decides whether search finds you or skips right over you. • Our blog posts now feature members as the example. Steve Tapia in the real estate piece, Jeff Richter in the new Hollywood AI-talent article. 📣 GETTING YOU SEEN • We're expanding beyond LinkedIn: YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. • Creator spotlight interviews. I'm personally reaching out to Pro members to record video interviews that go out on every channel, with your name and profile front and center. 🎓 LEARNING • Claude Code for AI Filmmakers: we've recorded 3 videos for the module so far. It's coming together! • Guest masterclasses are on the way. Every partner deal we sign now comes with its own module in the AIFCA classroom. 🛠 TOOLS & PERKS • New AI Tools & Platforms page on AIFD. I'm lining up deals with platforms to get YOU free credits. The first platforms are on board. Credits aren't live yet, but I'll let you know the minute they are. 🤝 ROOMS YOU WANT TO BE IN • AIFEC (AI Filmmaking Executive Circle) is a new invite-only roundtable with directors, studio heads, investors and tech builders. The more decision-makers I'm in the room with, the more doors I can open for you.

While I haven't turned it on video making yet, may I just say again that Claude has changed my life? Holy cow, what it can help me do!! And I mean what *I* specifically want to do. So example, we are moving to a new property, we will eventually build a house (and by we, I mean we ourselves with our own four hands). I want to play with ideas for the house. I tried to find a free or cheap program - because I'm not doing this for work - and they sucked. Or had steep learning curves which, again, I'm not getting paid. So one of the sites sent an email that said it could be hooked up to Claude. And I think, that could be helpful. So I ask Claude, he looks, and says Not Really. I mean kind of but hey, why don't I just help you myself? Well SURE babycakes, just you and me. LOL So I type out my rambling, and somewhat contradictory, ideas and he pastes them up in a mockup that not only makes sense of them but is interactive!!!! Do I want this room here or there? Okay, toggle this button and check it out. Do I want the porch all the way around or just partially? Again toggle the button. Husband finally got his own Claude this weekend so now he doesn't have to have AI envy any more. Meanwhile my little map site is headed to 300 pins in just one week!!
