As a social scientist, I've spent my life understanding people. As a farmer, I've spent my life understanding growth. I guide adults into their Vibrant Second Spring by planting seeds of possibility through The Living Community Garden. Those two experiences have quietly been teaching me the same lesson from different directions: Healthy growth cannot be rushed. It can only be nurtured. · That's true for vegetables. · It's true for forests. · It's true for people. · It's true for communities. We don't control the seasons. We choose how we tend the garden.
