2am. Staring at the ceiling. Asking: "Who am I now?"
Midlife has a way of handing you a blank page and expecting you to know what to write on it. The kids are grown. Or the marriage ended. Or your body changed without your permission. Or all of it, or none of it. Maybe life just kept happening, little by little, and you didn't even notice you were changing. Then one day you wake up and think, "Who the heck am I? And where do I go from here?" @Shandanette Goodwin likes to think of it this way: you're not starting from scratch, you're starting from experience. And she'd know. She's a former beauty entrepreneur who reinvented herself, and today she's a certified menopause coach helping women 40+ do the same. That's what 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 is for. Inside, she offers weekly prompts and challenges, mindset conversations, and journaling. It's all for women who are ready for what's next and unsure of where to begin. Her rules are simple: no shame, no pressure, no pretending. If that sounds like you, this is the place 👉 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 So which one hits home for you? Kids out of the nest? A marriage that ended? A body rewriting the rules? Or something else that has you asking, "Who am I now?" Drop it below. 👇 And if you know a woman who's been saying "I don't even know where to start," tag her.

For me it's really just peri-RAGE... oh and being wide awake and ON at 1am every morning!
🎯 If your goal feels “too hard…” (7 Mindset Tools)
While preparing for a coaching call this week, I found myself pulling together the mindset strategies I lean on most when progress feels slow, motivation dips, and that little voice starts asking, “Can I really keep doing this?” I know I'm not the only one who's been there, so I thought they might be useful here too. I originally wrote these with a health goal in mind, but honestly, they apply almost anywhere you're stretching yourself — business, personal growth, relationships, fitness... you name it. Sometimes we don't need a new strategy. We need something that helps us keep showing up. ✅ 1. Build Your “Why Stack.” When things feel hard, your brain often forgets the goal. Write down five reasons you want what you want: - Two emotional reasons (confidence, freedom, body comfort) - Two functional reasons (energy, mobility, day-to-day strength) - One big-picture reason (longevity, being a positive role model) ✅ 2. Get Clear on Your Identity Beliefs. Anchor into who you're becoming, not just what you're doing. Statements like: - “I am a person who will do whatever it takes.” - “I keep promises to myself.” - “I make choices aligned with my goal.” Identity shifts make aligned decisions easier—especially on the tough days. ✅ 3. Use Mental Rehearsal for Tough Moments. Don't only visualise achieving the goal. Rehearse the moments most likely to derail you. The difficult conversation. The disappointing result. The temptation to procrastinate. The thought, “This is too hard.” A simple script: - Imagine the moment. - Notice the discomfort. - Breathe. - See yourself taking the action you're proud of. - Feel the pride afterwards. You're practising your response before you need it. ✅ 4. Create “If–Then” Plans for Mental Triggers. Decide in advance what you'll do when predictable obstacles show up. For example: - If I think, “This is too hard,” then I remind myself, “It’s not hard, it’s new. I can do new.” - If I feel overwhelmed, then I do a five-minute brain dump before deciding anything. - If I want to abandon today's plan, then I give myself 10 minutes before making that decision.

😆 Maybe We’ve Made Consistency Too Complicated?
One of the things I’ve been thinking about a LOT lately is how consistency compounds. Not just in the obvious way — more workouts eventually make you stronger, more nourishing meals support your health, more walks add up... There’s another kind of compounding that I think matters just as much: Every time you do the thing you said you’d do, you create a little more evidence that you can TRUST yourself to follow through. Here are 5 ways I think we can make that easier: ✅ 1. Build self-belief on purpose. Self-belief isn’t a mindset you're born with. It’s evidence you build. Each time you do the small thing you said you’d do — walk, prep food, train, go to bed on time, journal — your brain records: I follow through. Those tiny pieces of evidence add up. ✅ 2. Lower the bar + protect momentum. Bad day? Do the 5-minute version. The short walk. The mini meditation. The lighter workout. The ridiculously easy meal. The goal isn't huge progress today. The goal is NOT restarting tomorrow. ✅ 3. Protect the streak. A streak can start to shift how you see yourself. You stop asking: Do I feel like it? And start thinking: I’m someone who does this. Pick ONE action that matters and track it. Consistency beats optimisation. ✅ 4. Remove decision fatigue. Decide once: 🥣 What your go-to breakfast is. 💪 What days + times you train. 📱 What time your phone goes away at night. 🥦 What easy food you ALWAYS keep available. You’re not relying on willpower every day. You’re relying on a decision you already made. ✅ 5. Don’t overlook THIS benefit... Consistency doesn't just improve results. It removes so much of the guilt + mental clutter. Instead of: on track → off track → feel bad → restart Monday You start creating: small action → small win → confidence → repeat. 💚 You don't need a perfect week. You need a repeatable day. So I’d love to know: What’s ONE thing you’re trying to become more consistent with right now? And perhaps more importantly… What’s the LOW-BAR version you could still do on a tough day?

@Lisa Drennon that's a great one, your low-bar money habit. I've started on the money / tracking habits too. It's insane how fearful it can be to check. I have a "not super low bar" daily tracking habit now aligned with my new belief: "I am a person what measures what matters, and calibrates quickly." Also, Data Not Drama!

@Lisa Drennon the super low bar money one I guess is I use Mel Robbin's 5-4-3-2-1 rocket strategy whenever I think I should check my bank account and get fearful. As in, 5-4-3-2-1 JUST DO IT!
