to skool or not
Hey everyone! I am trying to make a decision, but I don't feel like I have definitive data in order to make a best decision. I know the value of having a community and hosting my freebie in a skool group would definitely help with building an email list and a community at the same time. And I like the idea of having a ready source of comments to be able to reply to and even use it to build out content as I do best in response. However, I have a few concerns: 1. In my previous business, I had a Facebook group, and it took until you got to like 400+ people for anybody to really say anything. The constant posting and lives to crickets, even though I knew it was part of the process (and I have had several people say how helpful it was and they watched them all even when I didn't know), was such a struggle mentally and emotionally. I'm not really keen on the idea of doing that again. 2. I know that one to one and small groups are what I've always been good with, so worry about keeping up the energy in perpetuity with a membership/ free group. 3. I'm a high ticket coach and strategist, I do plan on having a low ticket offer, but it was more one offs in my head, so not sure about what I would even do for a premium that would still guide people to my high ticket services or if my ideal client even does these groups or not... I also love groups. I love being in groups and communities, and I'm just trying to work out in my brain if this is a direction I should go. I'm just looking for more input and data, really, and if we could help, that would be great.
Hey Mary, this is such a good question and honestly one I see constantly, so let me name two things that might actually help you move instead of gathering more data. First: a Skool community isn't automatically a low ticket offer, it's a platform. Loads of high ticket business owners are running a Skool community purely as lead gen and nurture into 1:1 or premium work, and there are many premium groups on here (including Hormozi who has a $1000/month membership). So the real question isn't "does a community fit my price point," it's "what job do I want it to do for me?" Second, and this one's bigger than choosing a platform or format: having to show up way before anyone else does is part of business life. When I first started my business, I realised that as an introvert (and a bit of a weirdo) I am used to and okay with being on my own, so I dug deep into WHY I was doing this work when it would be so much easier to do something else and held that as the reason I would show up... not if others do... but until. I believe it's THE key to building the resilience needed to stick something out for the long haul. I've been in business for 12 years and all the platforms have changed so much, even getting to a point where I got a lot of engagement in different places, that has changed now and they are ghost towns (*cough* Instagram and email). In terms of data collecting, the best way to do this is to start, commit for a set amount of time (I recommend 90 days, minimum), give it your all and collect your data because your audience, work, niche, and own needs/strengths/capacity is different from everyone else. There are many people on Skool (and any platform) who have had incredible success and others who have not. And then the majority of people in the middle who are sticking it out and continuing to experiment and try new things. This one goes deeper than what I unpack in here, it's exactly the kind of thing we work through inside Cozy Business Quest, but hopefully this is a starting point for you :)

Cozy Growth Ecosystem Workshop This Week!
The Cozy Growth Ecosystem Workshop is happening, and I want to tell you what we are actually doing in it. You have things running. A platform or two, an offer, a freebie somewhere, half a podcast plan, three courses you bought and meant to implement. None of it talks to each other. So every week feels like starting over, and every new strategy you see feels like the thing that will finally pull it together. Here is what I see over and over: it is not that you are missing pieces. You have covered your bases already. The overwhelm comes from trying to run all of it at once, and from being too close to your own business to see how it connects. That is the whole workshop. We stop, we empty the pack, and we sort out what you are actually carrying. What we are doing together: 👉 Getting everything out of your head and onto one page. Every platform, half-built thing, idea and side quest. Messy is correct. 👉 Finding what you already have that you are not counting. Past clients, something nearly finished, content that performed, an offer that has sold before. 👉 Sorting all of it into the three phases of the ecosystem, so you can see the shape of what you have built without realising it. 👉 Choosing where you start from, based on your actual goal, your real capacity this month, and what is closest to done. Not the order someone else told you to follow. 👉 Naming one small step. Small enough for a low capacity week, and changeable whenever you need to change it. I will also sort a couple of real businesses live, so you can watch the thinking happen rather than just hearing about it. If you are brave enough to volunteer yours, bring it. What you will walk away with: ✅ The Quest Map, which is your whole business on one page ✅ The Asset Audit, so you stop overlooking what you already hold ✅ The Sequencing Questions, the three questions I use to decide what comes first ✅ The Nice-To-Have List, so the things you park do not feel like things you dropped ✅ One worked example from my library, showing a real pile sorted into a real order
