An online networking event with a speed dating format. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Tonight was our second IRL Connection Meetup. 11 people registered. 2 showed up. And yeah, I'm not going to lie... I was disappointed. I put time and energy into organizing these events because I genuinely believe in the power of bringing people together. When you expect a room full of people and only two walk through the door, it stings a little. But here's where my mindset shifted. 👇 Instead of focusing on the 9 who didn't show, I focused on the 2 who DID. And you know what? We had some GREAT conversations! 🔥 I got to know both of them on a much deeper level. We talked about what we're working on, where we're heading, and how we can help each other grow. I also got to share my bigger vision for Connection Meetups and how I want these events to bring people together to create real opportunities. And the best part? They were excited about bringing other people next month! That right there reminded me of something. Sometimes we get so caught up in the numbers that we forget about the PEOPLE. Would I have loved 11 people in the room tonight? ABSOLUTELY! But would I trade the quality conversations I had with these two people? NOT A CHANCE. Because those two people showed up, gave their time, and were willing to build relationships. And that matters. 📸 Here's our group picture. All 3 of us! No packed room. No pretending it was something it wasn't. Just three people having real conversations and creating possibilities. My biggest takeaway tonight: You can't control who shows up.
