I agree with both Stevie and Marylisa. Before technology was a thing as we have it today, we depended on in-person interactions at school, work, community situations, hobbies, and groups. Outside of that was the telephone and even letter-writing for long distance friends and relatives. (Am I dating myself???🤣) Anyway, texting, social media, and emailing is an added way to connect further and even find connections in the first place. I had Meetup groups and joined some and that's how I met acquintances, friends, and even my current partner after moving to Nevada! While nothing beats in-person experiences, it all started online.
