Important CEO Announcement!
To my Creative to CEO family, This wasn't an easy decision to make, but after some reflection, I've decided to temporarily suspend the Creative to CEO community. First, I want to say thank you. Thank you for trusting me, believing in my vision, and allowing me to be a small part of your journey as creative entrepreneurs. Over the past few months, it's been incredible watching so many of you grow, gain confidence, ask bigger questions, and start thinking like true CEOs. That has meant more to me than you know. At the same time, I also have to be honest with you. I know I haven't been able to give this community everything I originally envisioned, especially over the past month. When I created this space, I made a promise to show up with excellence, intention, and value. Right now, I know I'm not able to give you the level of leadership, coaching, and consistency that you deserve. And I never want you investing in something that isn't giving you everything I believe it should. Because of that, I've made the decision to suspend the community for now. Here's what that means: Your membership isn't going away. Every single one of you will remain in the community, and you'll always be grandfathered into whatever this community evolves into next. Your billing will be paused, and your monthly subscription will automatically revert to $0. You won't be charged going forward, but you'll continue to have access to all of the existing content inside the community. This isn't goodbye. We have some exciting ideas for what this space could become in the future, and I truly hope you'll stick around to be part of that next chapter when the time is right. Please know this: I am not giving up on my mission to teach, mentor, and help build the next generation of Creative CEOs. Right now, this CEO simply needs to take a temporary step back so I can make sure I'm showing up as the very best version of myself in every area of my life. I owe that to my family, my businesses, my community, and ultimately to all of you.

Just starting and needing to build a portfolio
Happy Sunday guys! Hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe 4th of July I’m just starting my event design journey and wanted to ask how some of you build your portfolio in the beginning just starting out when you don’t have the inventory or actual bookings to get exposure and build your portfolio? I feel stuck trying to showcase my craft when I don’t have anything to begin with and no starting funding but my full time work earnings, if your willing to share please let me know how you guys truly got started building your portfolio designing events, and sourcing inventory.

First, I want you to know that almost every successful event designer started exactly where you are. 😊 We all look at someone's polished portfolio today, but nobody sees the beginning. Here's the biggest mindset shift I want you to make: Your portfolio is built with intention, not just bookings. When I first started, I didn't have a warehouse full of inventory either. I reinvested every dollar I made back into the business. One event bought the next piece of inventory, then that inventory helped me book the next client. It didn't happen overnight. Here are a few things I'd recommend: ✨ 1. Style before you're hired: Create your own styled shoots. Borrow items, rent what you need for a day, partner with a florist, baker, photographer, or venue that's also building their portfolio. Everyone wins. ✨ 2. Start where you are: Don't wait until you have a $20,000 inventory collection. Design a beautiful table. Design a dessert display. Design a balloon backdrop. Show people what you're capable of with what you have today. ✨ 3. Rent before you buy: In the beginning, I rented far more than I owned. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Let your clients help fund your inventory over time instead of putting yourself into debt trying to look established. ✨ 4. Document EVERYTHING: Every setup, every mockup, every behind-the-scenes moment, every improvement. Your audience is watching your journey just as much as your finished work. ✨ 5. Reinvest your profits: This is probably the hardest part. When that first check comes in, don't think, "What can I buy for myself?" Think, "What piece of inventory will make me more money?" That's how businesses are built. And one last thing... Don't compare your Chapter 1 to someone's Chapter 20. We all started with empty garages, borrowed inventory, and big dreams. The difference is we kept going. Keep creating. Keep posting. Keep learning. Your first clients won't hire you because you own everything. They'll hire you because they believe you can bring their vision to life.

HOMEWORK & JUNE CEO LEADERBOARD WINNERS
🏛️ Boardroom Recap + Your CEO Move First, thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first Boardroom meeting (The New Name For Our ALL Community Bi-weekly Calls). This is more than a live call. It's where Creative CEOs come together to think bigger, make better business decisions, and leave with one action that moves their business forward. Your Homework Before Our Next Boardroom If you missed the call—or even if you were there—I want you to complete the Rearview Mirror & Windshield Exercise before our next meeting. 🪞 Rearview Mirror Take a few minutes to write down everything you're proud of accomplishing so far this year. Don't just think about revenue. Celebrate the progress. Maybe you booked your first client, finally launched your business, showed up consistently on social media, raised your prices, or simply kept going when it would've been easier to quit. 🚘 Windshield Now look ahead. Ask yourself: Who do I need to become before October? Notice the question isn't, "What do I need to do?" It's "Who do I need to become?" The opportunities are coming. The BER months are almost here. The goal is to become the CEO who is ready when they arrive. 👇 I'd love for you to share one takeaway from your exercise in the comments below. What's one thing you're proud of, or what's one CEO trait you're committed to developing before October? Let's encourage each other and keep the momentum going. 🏆 CEO Leaderboard Congratulations to this month's top contributors! 🥇 1st Place: @Keya Mociers You've earned a 30-minute 1-on-1 Strategy Call with me! 🥈 2nd Place: @Emanuel Perry You've earned a 15-minute Strategy Call with me! 🥉 3rd Place: @Dee Arnold This isn't about popularity, it's about participation. CEOs show up. CEOs contribute. CEOs don't just consume. As a reminder, we'll recognize our CEO Leaderboard winners on the first Boardroom call of every month, beginning with our first call in August. That means there's still plenty of time to climb the leaderboard by asking thoughtful questions, encouraging other members, sharing wins, posting your homework, and engaging with the community.
