Couple questions, Jared (First off, very excited to give this a try!). Are the Silica Flour 325 mesh and the Fused Silica Flour on the resources list for the face coat slurry interchangeable? Do you have any recommendations for getting ahold of these silica flours at a reasonable price? I live in rural northern Wyoming. No foundry supply places around me that I know of. Closest may be Salt Lake (8hr drive)? Might just have to man up and pick some up next time I'm traveling, unless I can find an economical way to get it shipped? Also, any alternate options for some of these other specialty products like the Laguna Gum Solution? Most these products cost more to ship than the product itself. Excellent. Thank you! I'll see if I can find a pottery supply place. Maybe in Billings (only 2 1/2 hours 😂). That's great news about life expectancy. I'm just a beginner hobbyist, so much easier to justify if I can get some life out of a batch. Got lots of ideas. Been doing some lost wax investment casting on smaller parts, but wanting to try a few bigger lost PLA parts, so it seems like ceramic shell would be a better route.
