Your doctor got about one hour of training for this.
Something landed hard for me this week, and I want to bring it in here, because you're the room I trust with it. Most doctors get about one hour of menopause training in all of medical school. One hour, for the transition half of us will live through. So if you've ever walked out of an appointment feeling dismissed, brushed off, told it was "just stress," here's what I need you to hear. That was never about you being dramatic, or difficult, or wrong. It was a gap in the room. You were asking people who were never taught the answer. It's Perimenopause Awareness Month, which feels like exactly the right time to say this out loud, together. So tell me, as short or as real as you want: how many doctors did it take before one of them finally took you seriously? Or what were you told it was, before someone said perimenopause? Drop it below. I'll read every one, and I'll reply to each of you. You're not the only one. You never were.

I have never had a doctor address this. It does not help most of my doctors were male and what would they really understand, anyway? My doctor did address the midlife weight gain with eat better, and exercise. While this helps sort of, it is not sustainable in daily life.
Tuesday Check-In
A question for you today: have you ever walked out of a doctor's office feeling like your symptoms were dismissed or brushed off as just stress or aging? The truth is, standard medical training leaves huge gaps when it comes to women's midlife health. Tell me in the comments below: what is one thing you wish your doctor understood about what you are experiencing?

EVERY time I walk into a doctor's office, I feel unheard and not taken care of because they NEVER want to work with you holistically. They get out their prescription pad and prescribe things I will not take. Our medical system is so broken. Most things can be healed and reversed with food and herbs, but they will never tell you that.

@Robin Helm Exactly, and that is where the problem lies. One time I took myself off a med because I did what I needed to do to fix the issue, The doc was upset, but agreed I did not need to be on it anymore. The truth is, I do not think he would have recognized that I did not need to be on it, which is why I did it myself. And menopause - OMG, you never get a good answer from them. and if the doc is male, how would eh know or understand??? JS
Rest Day: You Earned This
Today's just for rest, no prompt, no ask. You earned it this week. See you tomorrow.

I definitely needed a rest day. And I enjoyed it.
The Sleep Reset closed last night, and I want to hear how it went.
If you want to know which floor to build on next, the free Five Floors Assessment takes two minutes, it'll show you exactly where to focus. And if you know someone who missed this round, the Reset isn't going anywhere. It lives right here in the classroom now, so send her our way whenever she's ready. If you didn't get a chance to try it, or complete it, it's still here. Drop one word: how are you feeling today?

Night 5 Replay: You Built a Floor
If you missed tonight's live, or want to watch it again, here it is. We closed out this week together: walked back through everything we built, night by night, celebrated real wins from this room, and named the one thing worth keeping, even on the worst nights. If you're ready to go deeper on sleep, the Sleep Floor Guide is there for you. If you're ready to find your next floor, the free 2 minute Assessment shows you where to start. Either way, come tell us what you choose. Whatever you built this week, however small, that's real. Thank you for doing this with me.

Thank you! Great info. And, @Jennifer Seven, for the record, I sleep better with socks because my circulation is not great and my feet are always cold! Good to know it is a thing! lol
