Ouch!
I haven’t been on here in a bit. I’m still here. But just fyi I broke my wrist so I’m benched for a bit. A young lady ran into me at the rink from behind. I was going regular rink direction and she was skating backwards. Obviously not looking where she was going. Sent me flying right off my feet. So I had surgery last Wednesday for plate and screws. I’ll be back though. I am putting on my skates and just sitting on the couch. I’m also going to do some off skate exercises in my socks. This sucks so bad.

@Marisa Sa I went to my surgeon the other day. She said it’s healing nicely I just need to get my Movement back in my wrist. I’m going to start skating again. I got some good wrist guards!!
Why buying expensive Riedell 3200s won't fix your terrible spin technique. 🛼
I see so many beginners drop $800 on custom boots and Arius plates, thinking the hardware will magically cure their balance issues. Then they hit the rink, try a pivot-back6 combo, and immediately eat the floor. The pain is real (especially the bunions!). I was frustrated for years until I stopped blaming my wheels and installed 'The Silent Hand-Off' into my practice sessions. Instead of forcing the momentum, the hand-off trains your body to transfer your center of gravity seamlessly from the toe manual into the spin, letting physics do the work instead of your ankles. What's the hardest part of your skating journey right now—nailing the footwork, or just finding the confidence to hit the floor?

For me right now is being off the floor. Someone accidentally collided into me from behind and I broke my wrist. Had surgery and now working on getting mobility back. Some people say just go and skate anyway but I’m kinda waiting on clearance from my surgeon. With that being said, I was really feeling myself leveling up and I’m afraid that I might have lost it being off the rink for 2 months now. So I’ll have a bit of a reset and then I’ll be back working on pivots and turns and building my confidence again.
Fo-Mac wheels
Anyone use Fo-Mac’s in here? And if so how long have you been skating and what are your opinions on them?

@Paul Schmidt so I’m going to start learning STL and was told clay wheels are best. But my biggest concern is my skill level versus these wheels lol!

@Paul Schmidt I think I’m going to stick with my Dots while I’m first learning 👀😂 Move onto the others when I get a little more skate time under my belt

Hello!
Hello fellow skate fam! I am new here and in Kansas City this week and have been checking out the sessions and lessons! Love the hospitality in this city. I am based in Chicago and I primarily focus on JB style skating but slowly visiting other cities and learning new styles!

How did you enjoy Kansas City? I am booked to go in October to start taking lessons there.
