Today, I prayed to God. I said, “Lord, I know my journey to Germany won’t be easy, but it’s not impossible. I enrolled in a language school, and I’m almost done with my A1 class, but I just seem to be convinced that I have the tools I need to move on to the next step. I am honest enough to say that I rely too much on the language school, but can you blame me? I am working full-time, and having four hours of intensive classes every day, Monday to Friday, after a long day at the office has burned me out. The love and motivation for going to Germany slowly fade every night. During class, I feel like I’m just waiting for the class to finish. This is not the way or process I want to learn the language because I know that German, or Deutsch, is a beautiful language. I stumbled upon a TikToker who teaches German and perhaps other languages as a polyglot. She said that maybe it’s not the language itself, but rather the state of mind you have while studying it. The exhaustion, the stress of catching up, and the fast pace of teaching at the language school are not ideal for me. Reason why stop attending the online class and just surrender it to God. Learning German should be enjoyed not considered a burden
