I love it when I get messages like this one 👇
This landed in my LinkedIn inbox this morning (I've removed the name and the details that would identify the sender): "Hi Alex, My name is [redacted]. I recently sold my startup, and I'm now working on an AI production studio. I'd love to pick your brain on the industry. I've already found quite a few amazing contacts through the directory! Was wondering if you'd be free for a call this week." --- Read that again. A founder with a real exit under her belt is building an AI studio... and where did she go to find talent? The directory. She didn't post a job ad or dig through Reddit. She searched, found people she liked, and reached out. This is exactly why I built AIFD. And it's happening more and more. Producers, studios and brands are quietly browsing profiles and making a shortlist before you even know they exist. So here's my question for you: When someone like her lands on your profile, what does she see? If your profile is half-filled, has no reel, or is sitting on the free tier buried under everyone else... you're invisible at the exact moment it matters. Pro members show up higher in search results, and you get a fuller profile to show off your work. It's $150/yr, which is less than one small gig. 👉 Go take a look at your profile today. Update your reel, tighten your bio, and if you're serious about getting hired, go Pro. And use the modules in the Classroom to optimize your personal brand. Talk soon, Alex

seems like everyone is making a studio!
110K views — polarizing story + AI B-roll
Just crossed 110K views on this one. Took a high-emotion news story (Dude 44 Bravo / F-15E), kept the talking-head A-roll, built dark cinematic AI B-roll for the nouns, burned captions, Pixel Storm end card. One thing that’s clearly helping: the topic is polarizing. People aren’t just watching — they’re arguing it out in the comments and pushing it through their own circles. That self-propagation is doing more work than any Boost. Happy to break it down if anyone wants it. Basically, what I did was take the transcript and had Claude cut it down into about a 3- to 4-minute segment, including all the time codes. Then I took the moments that could use B-roll in the story and had it create the prompt from the script. EDIT: https://youtu.be/Bdu8sr6FW5s

is this something that one can automate you think?
I want AI filmmakers to make ads for AIFD (and get full credit)
I just recorded a quick video walking through an idea I've been chewing on for AIFD. The short version — AIFCA members with a Pro profile get invited to make a video ad for the directory. If I pick yours, it goes up on our socials... with your name on it, and a link straight to your portfolio. Not picked this round? No hard feelings, you can submit again next round. And everyone who participates gets a coupon toward AIFD either way. Still shaping this one, so I'd love your honest take. Watch the video and let me know what you think 👇 #aifilmmakersdirectory #aifilmmakerscareeragents

bro u should start an AI contest, id be down for that, i think most would as well. 5$ buy in, winners take all, u get a cut for organizing. or whatever the numbers are. heres my pov, u dont need a directory, u need a filter actually. filter out people w great minds, bc AI will just amplify your mind, which can be seen through the outputs. u need trusted creators, people then pay u for this trust (aka the filter, aka filter w a competition) lemme know what u thibkt
The AI Video Aggregator Wars (And How to Not Get Played by One)
We spent an afternoon pricing out Seedance 2.5 across every major AI video aggregator — Higgsfield, Krater, PixVerse, Runway. Along the way we found a site running paid Google ads that told us its "unlimited" offer expired in 3 hours, 7 days, AND 33 days — on the same page — with fine print listing a promo deadline that had already passed two months earlier. That's not urgency. That's a template nobody's watching. Full breakdown of who's actually charging what for Seedance 2.5 — and how to tell a real platform from a wrapper riding the hype — on the AIFD blog. Link in comments. - Live on AIFD - Scheduled to appear on LinkedIn Sunday at 11:15 AM EST.
