Hi everyone! My name is Anab I’m 17
I’m super excited to be here and connect with you all. My ultimate goal is to build a career as a professional working actor. Right now, I’m focused on building a strong foundation, honing my craft, and getting audition-ready. When I’m not practicing lines or working on scenes, I love watching film & TV performances to study how different actors approach their characters. Where I’m at right now: I’ve been putting in continuous work on my own analyzing scripts, practicing different accents, and filming self-tapes on my iPad to review my choices and improve my delivery. I’m always trying to push my range and learn new techniques! I’d love to know: What’s a specific script analysis or warm-up technique that completely changed the game for you when recording self-tapes?

Hi Anab, Welcome to the group! Here’s an answer to your questions: When analysing a script for a self tape (or any other reason) start by asking yourself the ‘W’ questions ie who, what, where, when, why (see below for a detailed explanation). As for ‘warm up’ techniques, you don’t really need to do this for self tapes. Once, you’ve done the preparation as outlined below, just run the scene as many times as you need. The first few takes will be enough of a warm up (and they might even be the best as they are fresh!). Here’s an AI explanation of W questions: The Five Ws (and How) are one of the most effective tools for script analysis. They help an actor move beyond memorising lines to understanding the character’s world, objectives, and behaviour. Every answer should come from the script whenever possible, with informed imagination filling in any gaps. 1. WHO? Who am I? This explores the character’s identity and relationships. Ask yourself: - What is my name, age and occupation? - What is my social status? - What are my beliefs and values? - What are my strengths and weaknesses? - How do I see myself? - How do other characters see me? - What is my relationship with each character? - What happened in my life before the play began? Purpose: Creates a complete, believable person rather than simply delivering dialogue. 2. WHAT? What is happening? This examines the action and objectives. Ask yourself: - What is happening in this scene? - What do I want? (My objective.) - What am I trying to achieve? - What obstacle is preventing me from getting it? - What tactics do I use to overcome those obstacles? - What changes by the end of the scene? Purpose: Acting is pursuing an objective. Every line should be motivated by wanting something. 3. WHERE? Where am I? This defines the physical environment. Ask yourself: - Where is the scene set? - Is it public or private? - What does the space look like? - What can I see, hear, smell and feel? - How does the environment affect my behaviour? - Do I feel comfortable or threatened here?

Hi, My name is Dee
I love anything artistic, but acting is what really grabs my attention. There's something about being able to transform into a completely different person and become part of something bigger than myself that I love. My goal is not only to improve as an actor but also to overcome my social anxiety. I want to be able to perform and act confidently on the spot in front of anyone, not just people I'm comfortable around.

Introducing Hailee 👋
Hi guys, I am new to this group and would love to introduce myself! My name is Hailee Pope and I’m from Newcastle, NSW. I would love to pursue a career in acting, with my ultimate goal being to see myself on the big screen. I’ve always been passionate about film and television, and I would especially love the opportunity to work on Home and Away. I’ve watched the show since I was a little girl, and I know many successful actors began their careers there. It would mean a lot to gain experience on set and grow within the industry that way. In my spare time, I’ve competed in bikini competitions and proudly placed 2nd in Australia. I’m also a mum to a beautiful 6 month old baby boy, which has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I’m really eager to step into the spotlight, challenge myself, and see how far I can go in this industry 😊
