Doubt has been the thing that has held me back the most from growing my channel. After I learnt how to do it systematically WITHOUT guesswork ... things just got so much easier. I hope sharing what I learnt will help others here - feel free to ask questions or DM me for more details if this was helpful ------------ 🎥 YouTube Beginner's Playbook How I grew & monetized my channel WITHOUT the guesswork 💥 1. Start With Ideas That Work - Don’t try to reinvent the wheel. - Look at what’s already blowing up in your niche — these are called outliers (videos that perform way better than average). - Lots of online tools or just browsing YouTube’s “Popular” section can show you these. Once I realised this is how I should grow my channel, things took off. 2. Learn Titles & Thumbnails - Titles and thumbnails are what make people click. - Copy the style, not the exact wording: notice how viral videos use curiosity, numbers, or strong visuals. 3. Know Your Audience - Beginner mistake = making videos for “everyone.” - Pick one niche (fitness, gaming, beauty, money, etc.) and stick to it until you gain traction. 4. Use Shorts + Long Videos - Shorts get you discovered fast. - Longer videos build watch time (needed for monetization). 5. Track What Works - Don’t guess — check what gets more clicks, longer watch time, and more subs. - If one type of video outperforms, make more like it. 6. Build Consistency - The YouTube algorithm loves consistency more than perfection. - Start with a schedule you can actually stick to (1–3 videos per week). 7. Monetize Smart - Requirements: 1,000 subs + 4,000 hours watch time OR 10 million Shorts views in 90 days. - But don’t wait — start with affiliate links, digital products, or coaching. 8. Stay in the Game - Growth feels slow at first. Every YouTuber starts at 0. - Use community groups (FB, Discord, Reddit) to learn and stay motivated. ✅ If you follow this playbook, you’ll avoid the biggest beginner trap: wasting months making random videos that nobody clicks.
