MIDWEEK CHECK-IN 🛡️
How’s your week going, Men? I’ve been seeing members getting the sessions done and sharing their progress. It’s good to see, and if you’ve had a rough week, you’re welcome to post that too. You don’t need a personal best to join the conversation. Drop your number below: 💪 1 — Getting it done. ⚔️ 2 — Doing what I can, but life’s getting in the way. 🔄 3 — Fallen off and need to restart. 👋 4 — New here and haven’t started yet. Then tell us one thing you’re going to get done before Sunday. A workout, a walk, starting the course, whatever moves you forward. Where are you at? I’ll be in the comments.

@Jonathan Wheeler Good work, Jonathan! 💪 Three sets of six pull-ups is a solid effort, mate. Getting more consistent with tracking your food alongside the training gives you something useful to build on. Really pleased to see you putting the work in, and sharing it here. Keep us posted on how you get on. 🛡️

@Andrew B That’s a strong week, Andrew 💪 Twelve thousand steps a day for weeks, no missed gym sessions and now hitting your protein target, that’s proper consistency, mate. One accidental lie-in doesn’t undo any of that 😂 Keep going with those four goals and let us know how you finish the week. Good work 🛡️

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW? 🛡️ Not six months from now. Not your perfect end goal. What’s the one thing you’re trying to improve at the moment? Fitness? Weight? Sleep? Mental health? Discipline? Being a better dad or partner? Getting some structure back into your life? Drop it below. You don’t need to have everything sorted. Just know what you’re working on next. One target. What is it? 👇 🛡️ MIND FIRST. BODY FOLLOWS.

@Iain Allan Mills That’s exactly the right focus. Two weeks of hitting every run/ruck is a solid base, now keep that routine boring and consistent. The fact you’re noticing where the stress is actually coming from is a big part of it. You can’t fix what you don’t recognise. I’ve also got a dedicated Stress Resistance course coming to Shield Wall soon, which should fit really well with what you’re working on now. Keep turning those screws one at a time 👊🛡️

@James Bennett Good work, James 💪 Week one done, Snowdon and a few more hikes, that’s plenty of work in the legs, mate. Good to see you back for week two. With the food, don’t try to overhaul everything at once. Pick one habit to work on this week, whether that’s planning your meals or sorting out the evening snacking, and build from there. What’s the biggest stumbling block for you: snacks, takeaways, portion sizes or figuring out what to eat? Let’s give you somewhere practical to start. 👊
WHAT’S YOUR ONE WIN THIS WEEK? 🛡️
Men, what’s one thing you’ve done this week that you’re pleased with? Got your training done? Went for a ruck when you couldn’t be arsed? Finally started the Reset? Or had a rough week and still managed to do something for yourself? It doesn’t have to be impressive. It just has to matter to you. Drop your win below, even if you’ve never posted before. And if you see someone making progress, give them a bit of support. Mind First. Body Follows.

@Mark Scaife That’s a solid week, Mark. Work’s been grim and your sleep’s taken a hit, but you’ve still got a run, two rucks and strength work in. Give yourself credit for that, mate. Moving the gym sessions to lunchtime was a sensible adjustment. Keep doing what fits while you get through this patch. The sessions don’t have to be as long as planned to count. You’re still showing up. 👊

@Oliver Hallissey That’s a big week, Oliver. Every gym session done, and you’re putting that effort towards something that means a lot to you. Turning that pain into something that helps others is something to be proud of. Keep us posted on the runs and walks, we’ll be cheering you on. 👊
BEND THE CLOCKS TO YOUR WILL. ⏰
Want to get up earlier? This month gives you a chance to make the change easier. On Sunday 25 October, the UK clocks go BACK one hour. Here’s how to use it. Start building a consistent sleep routine now. Pick a wake-up time you can manage, and give yourself enough time in bed. Let’s say you get used to waking at 5:45 a.m. When the clocks go back, that same moment becomes 4:45 a.m. Your body won’t instantly reset just because your phone has changed the time. That can give you a head start on an earlier morning. The bit you must remember: move your bedtime too. Asleep at 10:15 p.m. and awake at 5:45 a.m.? After the change, the equivalent is 9:15 p.m. to 4:45 a.m. Same seven and a half hours. Earlier start. Then give that morning a purpose. Lay your kit out. Have your first task ready. A walk. A ruck. Some writing. A quiet coffee before the house wakes up. You don’t have to join the 4 a.m. club. Choose a time that works for your life. Use the clock change as a head start. Build the habit that keeps it going. What would you do with an hour to yourself in the morning?

@Jamie Hickling Good to have you here, Jamie 👊🛡️ That’s a solid reason to make the change mate. Don’t try to undo a lifetime of habits in a couple of weeks, build the routine, stack the small wins and let the results follow. Now you’ve introduced yourself, head over to Classroom, start with “Everybody Starts Here”, then move onto the 12-Week Mind & Body Reset. Let’s get to work. 👊
