Claude Cowork instead of Code?
First, thank you @Jake Van Clief and @Bas Rosario for all your hard work and generosity. Reading through this has definitely changed the way I interact with my AI. I'm not a coder or developer, I run several companies and primarily do business development, strategy, and marketing. I live in Claude Cowork as it's portable across devices (I travel a lot for work and don't always carry my laptop). That said, I've built several time/money saving tools with Cursor and Claude Code as well as Antigravity and have a basic understanding of how to use AI. On my machine, I have one top-level folder labeled AI, under which are all my different AI projects, each with its own folder. In the top level there's a Claude.md router which tells Cowork where to go and what to do. Each folder has its own Context.md and other markdown files. I am still building things out, and before I let the agent rummage around I had some thoughts. My questions are: -can I use ICM with Claude Cowork and give it restricted access to my folder structure on my machine? -if you're not coding full-time, but rather designing tools for your companies, is it better to be in Code or Cowork? -does each folder require its own Claude.md file to navigate any subfolders or behave in a certain manner? Again, thanks for all your assistance, this is great stuff.

Module 4 finally has its new videos 🎉
Apparently “I’ll get those videos out soon” needed a clearer deadline. Preferably one I actually followed. 😂 Sorry these took longer than planned, everyone. The new videos for Foundation lessons 4.1–4.4 are now live! These look quite different from most of my videos. I’m trying a mix of animation, actual app screenshots, highlighted instructions, and worked examples to make the ideas easier to follow—and easier to try yourself. Here’s where to jump in: 👉 4.1: Install and First Use — 5:37 Start here if you’re still getting comfortable working with AI and local files. Grab the Foundation Practice download in Resources so you have something concrete to work with. 👉 4.2: Working With Files — 7:45 Take a few meeting notes and turn them into a decision list you can actually check. Who agreed to what? Where did that deadline come from? What’s still unanswered? 👉 4.3: Think, Then Build — 8:24 For those times when you ask AI for a whole plan before you’ve quite decided what you want. Compare your options, choose an approach, and turn it into a short brief before building. 👉 4.4: Project Instructions — 7:09 Give your AI a useful onboarding note: where to find the context, where the draft should go, and what needs checking. Includes the AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md connection for people using Codex, Claude Code, or both. You can also follow the exercises with a regular chat tool and save the files yourself. I would love some honest feedback on this style. Does the animation help things click? Are the app screenshots useful? Is anything moving too quickly—or taking too long?

I just started Module 4 and was wondering when those would drop, perfect timing. Quick question, where is the link to the Foundation Practice download in Resources? I don't see any section named Resources @Jake Van Clief. Thanks!

Wise Architects Corner Rung 1 is now live
As some of you know I have been working on a few modules for the classroom WELCOME TO THE WISE ARCHITECTS CORNER - THE LEGENDS · Clief Notes For a while now the sign on the door read 👷 Coming Soon 🚧 The First Rung Is Now Open Welcome. This is where we will demonstrate how AI works, where we build human-AI systems that last, and where the person at the keyboard stays the author of the whole thing. You do not need a technical background for any of it. You bring the curiosity, I bring the blueprints, and we build the understanding together. 🪜 Here is the climb This whole corner is one ladder, five rungs, and each rung raises what you can do with the machine: (1) Prompt engineering, talking to the model (2) Context engineering, giving it what it needs (3) Memory engineering, making it remember (4) Loop engineering, making it check its own work and then repeat (5) Graph engineering, running a whole system of them, with you in the chair You walk in asking "how do I even talk to this thing?" and you walk out running a system of them. That is the journey, and the top of this ladder is a system of machines, the bottom is one sentence, and the bottom is open today. 📚 What is open today The whole first rung, Prompt Engineering, all six posts: the Series 1 Overview, three classes, the payoff with its quick card, and my perspective on the rung everybody says is dead. 📆 A few things before you start One series a week. Rung two lands next week, rung three the week after, and this corner is going to grow fast, five weeks to the top. Follow these modules in order. You will find that each rung stands on the one below it, the second assumes you took the first, the third assumes you took the second, and the path only works if YOU climb from the bottom. Start at the map. The Start Here post shows you how every series in this corner runs and points you to the first door, the Series 1 Overview. Do not skip it (I know, you want the techniques, they are one door further and they are not going anywhere, the map is a short read, and it saves you a whole series of wondering where you are).

Have You Talked to the Clief Notes Agent Yet?
We officially launched the new Clief Notes Agent, and I wanted to check in with you. Have you had a chance to talk to it yet? If you have, I’d love to hear how it went. And if you’ve run into any questions, confusion, or issues getting started, drop them in the comments below. The goal is to make it easier to find what you need, know what to focus on next, and get more out of everything already inside Clief Notes. So, How’s your experience been so far?
