🕷️ One more App Store lesson: downloads aren’t the whole story.
I found another developer who reached 4,000 downloads, but his sales were about $235. He said the first version worked, but the screens felt rough, onboarding was confusing, and the paywall came out of nowhere. That’s a real reminder for us: AI can help us build faster, but trust comes from the experience we design. Before we add another feature, let’s ask: Can a new user understand what to do? Do the screens feel clear? Do they know when payment starts? Can we see where people get stuck? And when we share our work, let’s start with the problem we’re trying to solve. People connect with the problem before they care about our app. The goal isn’t just to get a download. It’s to help someone, earn their trust, and give them a reason to come back. We’re going to master this game over here. P2P 🫶🏾

@Sharon L Simmons so true...it's all in the implementation and the actual application on all counts.
Pull Up a Chair ☕ Help me pick a time
I'd love to put faces to names! 📩 DM me your question before Friday, Oct 16 so I can pull it at random on the call! I'm hosting our first Pull Up a Chair call. Grab your coffee, come say hi, and hear what's behind Pattern2Products. Here's the fun part: Send me your question by DM before Friday, Oct 16. On the call, I'll pull questions at random and answer them live. Ask me anything about spotting a pattern, building with AI, getting an app into the App Store, or my journey from 38 years in aviation logistics to building apps with AI. ~ 45 minutes ~ Camera optional ~ One question per person (send two if you're bold 😄) Vote below for the time that works best for you. Each option shows Grenada time, with Central (Dallas), Pacific (LA), and Belgium times here: Sun Oct 18, 2pm Grenada = 1pm CT / 11am PT / 8pm Belgium Tue Oct 20, 12pm Grenada = 11am CT / 9am PT / 6pm Belgium Thu Oct 22, 12pm Grenada = 11am CT / 9am PT / 6pm Belgium Sat Oct 24, 11am Grenada = 10am CT / 8am PT / 5pm Belgium Can't make any of these? Drop a comment with a time that works for you. 🧡

welcome @Troy Carter and @Hope David let's get this party started!!
Did ya know? 👀 Sometimes the opportunity isn’t a bigger idea. It’s noticing a pattern.
What caught my attention in this Reddit post is the pattern: small apps built around one specific hobby. The people using them already care about that hobby, spend money on it, and want tools that fit their world. Teaching moment: When you’re looking for an app idea, pay attention to what people repeatedly do, ask for, or struggle to find. A focused solution for a real community can be more useful than another app trying to serve everybody. The revenue figures shared in the post come from Sensor Tower. 🌱 💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰 The pattern i keep seeing in this year's top grossing charts: small apps built for one specific hobby. not "productivity", not another AI assistant. learning irish. ear training. rock hunting. a few that launched in the last 12 months, all with under 1,000 ratings, already making real money (iOS estimates): HeyRua: learn irish by speaking it out loud. launched in august, ~$100K/mo with under 600 ratings Pitch Trainer: ear training for musicians. ~$80K/mo Family Tree Maker: build your family tree with photos. ~$70K/mo SlowRead: a pretty bookshelf + focus sessions so you actually read. ~$40K/mo RockHoundR: a map of where it's actually legal to dig for rocks and fossils. ~$20K/mo with 124 ratings why it works imo: hobby people already spend money on the hobby. $5 a week is nothing next to a guitar or a rock hammer they're obsessed. they open the app because they want to, not because a notification told them to the communities are tight. one good post in an irish learners group or a rockhounding sub and you're set big companies don't bother. nobody at google is building a rock hunting app hobbies i'd look at next: knitting, fly fishing, woodworking, beekeeping, bonsai, metal detecting, home brewing. each one has a crowd that buys gear and argues about it online. What’s a hobby you're into that still doesn't have a good app?

@Sharon L Simmons YESSS...love the reminder Sharon...u got me thinking as well. I am a knitter and I have thought about a knitting app. Have not taken action because there are a few of them out there and I want to focus on issues that I have that, who knows, somebody else will have. It's on my list of potentials and I'll just get through the three I'm building now and then take the next one.
