Mark Lantz has passed away
I know quite a few of you know @Mark Lantz from various programs at Mastering.com . We found out earlier today that Mark passed away Sunday morning. We don't know the details but I'm asking you to keep Mark's wife Laura in your prayers. Last month Mark released "Always by my Side", a song he wrote and produced about and dedicated to his wife. Mark and I have had many conversations, 1 on 1 zoom calls, mentor calls, and chat messages. I have watched him progress since Sept 2023 as he started his musical journey with us. He went from not knowing anything about the DAW to becoming a great producer utilizing his natural singing ability and talent. While I am very sad that he has passed away, I know he was a man of great faith and is in the promised land today. There is so much more I can say about Mark, and will over time, but for now, I'll just post a link to his Spotify songs he released with the help of his mentors and community of friends in the program. If anyone ever tells you your music isn't important, stay away from them - there is power in music ... Mark's music, and his journey to get to where he released songs, touched many people and is an inspiration to us all. Here's a link to his Spotify page with his songs "Always by my Side" and "Into the Light", both of which hit home today for me. R.I.P. my friend ... see you in Heaven. https://open.spotify.com/artist/4qpArhT1mBq5vW0ZfK5seb?si=pfVMUPtTRYOFQ1vuJ_vCyQ

So sad! Mark was so nice. We worked together in collaboration- really great in so many ways. He told me about his pain, but never really complained. My love to you Laura, he always spoke about you as the big love and comfort of his life. ❤️
Great musician and producer!
Congrats to James Mahler - our TRE friend. Really nice what you are doing

I am very pleased. Happy! Main monitors Genelec 8330 AM. And as an extra reference and playing loud for fun, Adam A8X Studio Monitors. And always checking with my Ollo Headphones.
String library session section - what’s best?
I am going to buy a new string library and would appreciate your experience and knowledge to help me make a proper choice. I am NOT looking for a massive cinematic orchestra. More a 14-piece section for performance of string arrangements as we hear them in productions from Nashville or as they were done with Sinatra back in the days and today on albums as the wonderful new country album with Paul Carack. Hoping you are willing to share some ideas!

@Sean Thompson - Thanks for your answer. I have been a professional string arranger for more than 25 years but always been recording with live orchestras - now I am trying to find something decent to record backup string lines in contemporary pop/country songs. And I think most sounds quite "boring" (too fixed or too harsh...) I will check out vsl...

@David Harrison what library is the very best according to your knowledge? Please !
Friends! The last 3 Days were so fun! Can we make is OFFICIAL?
Well, that is another great Fix-The-Mix in the books! I really enjoyed working with Jake on this song and I want to thank you all for being there. It was a GREAT time. Congrats to Rueb Scott for making a killer song for us to work on. I felt like this FTM manifested many great conversations and some really MAGIC mixing moments for us to learn from. If you haven't yet, be sure to catch the replays. I also want to say thanks for letting me share my passion with you and speak about our flagship program The Reverse Engineer. These Fix-the-Mix events are the only time I really get to share with you how deeply I feel about our community and program we are building here. I am so excited that so many of you have either joined already or are working to join soon. Listen, I know that investing in yourself can be hard but I will always encourage people to be brave when it comes to self-improvement. Life is short and so we really need to pursue our passions with fervent focus and run wildly towards the things that make us happy. If getting the skills you need to be successful is the obvious next step, don't let anything stop you from finding good education. You'll never regret this move. Many years ago, in a particularly hard time of my life, I faced some major fears (and burdening ego) and chose to invest in myself. It wasn't easy, but the singular act changed everything for me. I hope all of you can move towards that vision for yourself in 2024. If you want to chat with us about how we can help you reach your goals with music production, book a call at the link below. We will decide if it's the right time and a good fit together, and then we will game plan a way to move forward. https://go.mastering.com/post-event-ftm-book Go be great! Caleb Loveless

TRE is a great program. I have been in the music biz all my life (since 1966) and wanted to get new perspectives and I do. Best investment I have done the last 23 years… A good starting point for the next 25 years to come…
