Bummed I missed you all Sunday..
I just took some much-needed time away from my daily routine and road-tripped up US 1 toward Santa Cruz and the Redwoods. I dosed 0.1g on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. While the effects were subtle, I definitely felt lighter and brighter. Hiking through the Redwoods was about as magical as I can imagine. I know not every dosing weekend will look like this, but the first one was absolutely amazing! Looking forward to chatting more on Sunday .. happy remembering everyone 🫶🍄

Experimenting with microdosing technique
First of all, i regret having not been able to attend our virtual gathering on Sunday. Looking forward to the recording once it’s available. With the microdosing, I am still trying to figure out the difference between a micro-dose and mini-dose, and it seems to me that maybe there is not a clear difference between the two. I am comparing between a 100 mg vs 250 mg dose, and in each case I notice something both physical and mental, just more apparent with a 250 mg dose. Also, at either dose, a mild effect seems to carry though most of my day, which I enjoy; and it leads to my work within this discipline to continue throughout the day in thoughts and observations. Still have not determined which dose it right for me. In addition to this open question, I had a number of days over the past week without the right conditions for a microdose, so I ended up getting a bit creative on this practice. I wasn’t able to set aside the time to do this practice in the same format that we have learned, so yesterday and today, I took microdoses of 100mg and 250 mg respectively. And a short while after, went about my day. (These were not dedicated work days, but busy with a number of activities.) Thus rather than be in a dedicated space with music, and open doors, I carried my open doors through the day and observed how things played out. Experiencing this in the context of life’s daily routines was instructive. (And with the microdose this seems practical, as I was not impaired (as I would have been with a heavy dose) from engaging in activities and interacting with people. Additionally, each day I did a fairly demanding swim, and the microdose seemed to help my connection to the water and engaging my body. I don’t know if this is the best way to go, or maybe not always, but it seemed to work in this instance, with effective exploration and integration.

Psytrance/ Ambient
Here's my fave LOUD (psytrance) album I referenced from dose day 1 - https://youtu.be/gKlxnMcyQqo?si=G1TUd4oyEhhCeigJ. And a cool playlist I found on Youtube of Aphex Twin's calmer side - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrfYCcHzXK9NYxbkPXYK-3eIHVj04qxLv&si=T9NlPOnwMmOHOIiu. PS If you're using a browser for free Youtube and don't want annoying ads interrupting your "flow," I love Brave browser :) I just took my inventory to lead me into week 3 of dosing and already may have made some connections just by writing it all out and re-reading what I wrote for each item. Happy dosing this week, everyone!

No Call Tonight & Micro Discipline Check In
Hey guys, tonight’s call is canceled. I’m traveling in upstate New York right now and the service isn’t reliable enough to hop on a call. Micro Discipline folks, we’ll still meet Sunday at 1 PM Central. If you’re going through Micro Discipline right now, drop a comment below and let us know what you’re feeling in your first week and how things are going. I’d love to hear it. Can’t wait to see the cohort on Sunday Aug 2nd, and everyone else next Thursday, August 6th. Call links are in the calendar tab at the top of the community; tap them to add to your personal calendars. Mush Love. Talk soon. 🍄

I am loving the "pre-dose checklist". actually challenging in some ways. Stuff that I am aware of on one level, but putting this into solid intentions for microdising I see as powerful.. looking forwarding to starting the microdosing and hearing about others' reflections/experiences
How to ID Reishi in the wild?
I got excited finding these babes in in the foothills of the Catskill mountains the other day, and grabbed a couple. However, from what I can tell, they are not reishi. Or maybe they are?? Wondering if these are useful in some way still, other than to marvel at their beauty.

@John James Staniszewski it was quite an adventure, and a little perilous, getting down the hill to them, a hill which drops off right below the tree. I went carefully, and took two, though the best one fell down to the creekside, where I hope it can reproduce ... i'll re-visit later in the season, an area where in the past I have found some beautiful (and delicious) Chicken-of-the-Woods shrooms
