Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and that’s okay. I worked an 84-hour week, which meant my gym time was limited. Instead of letting that stop me, I adjusted my approach and aimed for close to 20K steps a day to make up for the lack of cardio. I didn’t hit 20K every day, but I still exceeded 10K by thousands of steps every single day. It may not have been the perfect week, but I kept moving forward. Progress doesn’t have to be perfect to count. Some progress is always better than no progress. Keep showing up, keep adapting, and keep moving forward.

How long does it take?
A useful rule of thumb: 2–3 weeks: You’re getting used to it. 1–2 months: It starts feeling more natural. 2–3 months: It can become fairly automatic. 3+ months: For more difficult habits, this is completely normal. The key is consistency, not perfection. Missing one day usually isn't a big deal; repeatedly stopping and restarting is what makes it harder.
