Anyone else been to see the Odyssey at the cinema?
At school, we studied ancient Greek and Latin, along with a lot of the classical texts in the original and in translation, including the Iliad and the Odyssey, so this was a no brainer, I had to go and watch it! Finally got round to going yesterday with my husband, and we both enjoyed it. Matt Damon was really good as Odysseus, and so was Anne Hathaway as Penelope. Apart from the fact that the cinema played it so loud, my ears are actually still a bit sore and ringing this morning. I think next time, I will wait for a film to come out on streaming platforms, and not go to the cinema. Actually, I’ve not been to the cinema on my own with my husband since the third Lord of the Rings film came out, over 20 years ago now, without the kids. 🤣 We’ve watched films like Star Wars and kids films at the cinema since, but I don’t ever remember it being so loud. How about you, do you like going to the cinema, what sort of films do you go and see, or are you more sort of stay at home person and get the DVD when it comes out?

Hi, I'm Christina, a yoga, meditation and mindfulness coach. I live in the lovely county of Shropshire, in the UK. 🇬🇧 I have several heath issues including chronic migraines, asthma and osteoarthritis. These are not side notes in my life, they shape how I live my life. Over the years, I’ve trained in, and practised yoga, meditation, mindfulness, yoga nidra, mindset work, and Reiki. These are the practices support me, not by fixing anything, but by helping me to get through the day as I am. My life is slower now. I no longer push through or override what my body is saying. I pay attention to the little signals and subtle shifts, and I try to live in a way that feels calm, rather than demanding. 🥰 I love walking up big hills, running the trails, cycling, surfing (on the rare occasions we’re in Cornwall), reading, fibre crafts and my two rescue cats. This is who I am, someone living a real, ordinary life with chronic health issues, one day at a time. Stay tuned for content about yoga, running, hiking, meditation, yoga nidra, journaling, reiki and mindfulness. Welcome, and please feel free to introduce yourself below in the comments. ⬇️ PS this is a public community, so anything that is written here will appear on the internet!
