In case yall haven’t seen there’s a small group of ladies raising money for Make-A-Wish North Texas. We all selected a real Texas Kid’s wish to represent in mum form and are technically competing for the People’s Choice Award. Votes are cast by donation and each dollar = 1 vote. While the votes are nice I think the makers will agree that reaching or donation goals is way more important. ⚠️ A Friendly FFA Vendor Warning ⚠️ I've seen a lot of FFA posts today, so I wanted to share my personal experience. Yes, my listings were removed. Yes, I had products shut down. And yes, this image is actually one of the products that started the process for me. Notice this is not the official FFA emblem. It was my own design using the FFA letters. What I learned is that sometimes organizations own more than just a logo. In this case, FFA owns the FFA name and branding, which requires authorization to sell. For years, I have worked with local FFA booster clubs, students, and organizations. Because much of that work was done directly for groups that already had authorization, I honestly believed I was covered. I learned that selling products yourself is a completely different situation. When this happened, I stopped, learned the process, and applied for licensing. I was fortunate that FFA gave me the opportunity to correct the issue and work through the proper channels. The process included applications, insurance requirements, product reviews, revisions, approvals, and a lot of patience. Not every company or organization handles these situations the same way. My goal isn't to scare anyone. My goal is simply to share what I learned because this topic rarely gets discussed in the homecoming community. If you're creating products using an organization's name, letters, logo, emblem, mascot, or branding, I encourage you to do a little research first.
