We will pay you to get your case studies
We will pay to run your ads and send your emails. AND you will get paid a recurring commission for any new members your work brings in. Now we've got rid of all the freeloaders I can focus on making your time here more valuable. Everyone knows the hardest part about starting your copywriting career is getting your first client win and case study. And it's the part that takes the longest because you have to: - Get good enough to be able to deliver work that has a chance to win - Convince a business to take a chance on a copywriter with no experience - Deliver the work - Make sure they use your work and do it correctly - Make sure they tell you the results And even if you get a business to agree to give you a shot, that doesn't mean you'll get your first case study. You might have to go through this experience several times before you get your first client win. So we're going to cut that time to PRETTY MUCH ZERO. Here's how: - We will allow paying members to create ads and write emails promoting Copywriting Launchpad - We will spend our own money to run your ads and send your emails to our list - When we run one of your ads or send one of your emails, we will use your referral link so you get a commission on any new members who sign up Conditions: - Only current paying members are eligible - You have to be a paying member for more than 1 full month, that's 2 billing cycles - You have to deliver complete ads. We will not pay for any graphic design or video editing. We will only pay for the ad spend - Ads and emails have to be reviewed and approved before we use them. It's the same process as getting your copy critiqued. You post copy in the community, we give feedback, and you revise until it's useable What to do if you're not eligible: - If you're not a paying member, upgrade to paid. This applies to legacy Copyskills members too. I recommend the annual subscription because it's 50% off and you'll save $300. - If you're a paying member and this is your first month here, use it to get good at creative strategy and email copywriting

@Emmanuel Mariescurrena If you're a legacy member from Copyskills, yes. You don't have to wait one month to submit ads. To become eligible you only have to upgrade to a paid membership.

Landing Page for a Membership
Context: This landing is for Freedom Academy, a gamified protocol to regain focus, stop procrastinating, and achieve your goals consistently. Reader: They want to improve their focus, but they lack a system to do it consistently, the data to know they're making progress, and the follow-up to keep from giving up. Everything else is a BONUS. Their main false beliefs are: 1. "That's just how I am": they believe their lack of focus is part of who they are (slow reader, procrastinator, undisciplined). 2. "Changing will take me years": they believe improving requires an enormous amount of time and effort. 3. "I lack motivation / willpower": they believe they need to feel motivated or have more discipline to get started. They know they're capable and could give much more, but they can't find a way to sustain it. They start out strong and a few weeks later they're back to the same old habits. They're easily knocked off track by distractions (especially their phone), which lead them to procrastinate. Deep down, they're afraid they're not capable. These beliefs are debunked through the two lies (it's not who you are, it's where you are right now / the right changes speed everything up) and through member success stories. Idea: Your focus isn't something you're born with. It's a state that can be trained, and with the right changes, in the right order, it improves in weeks, without depending on willpower. Offer: A gamified protocol of small weekly changes, with 1-on-1 follow-up and a community, proven with 118 people and backed by a Double Guarantee. Most people will land from referrals or Double Lead method (Power Content, Value Bombs, Power Offer, etc.) Here's the landing page mockup I made with Claude. The copy was originally in Spanish, so I used AI to translate it, and it was pretty accurate. The cred section is empty because I'm waiting for the guru to complete it: https://claude.ai/artifact/LNvAufjRJsQMEi5cMQHjYX#page-dcb81aee8d83

This is pretty good. Don't animate the testimonials in the hero section. No one is going to stick around for the animation to change. You can put the 3 best one-line testimonials in a row under the button. The questions and answers in the FAQ section are meant to be a mini sales page on its own. So if someone doesn't read anything but the FAQ, they have enough information to make a buying decision. So the questions shouldn't be about “admin” stuff and worded in an “HR” way. The same belief shifting and communication of value that happens in the sales page needs to happen in the FAQ.

@Emmanuel Mariescurrena You can also add more closes. You don't have to only have one close. But you don't need to fix that in the sales page right now. You can launch it, see how it performs, then make any changes.
I no longer get paid hourly for writing with my new client, who was referred by an existing client. Yay!
Two weeks ago, I had a call with a CEO. The initial offer was for graphic design, but I declined because I wanted to focus on copywriting. I told the CEO that my strength is writing copy. Two days later, they hired me as their copywriter. 🥹 I’ll be working on landing pages, blogs, email campaigns, ads, and more. Here’s the catch: They’ve given me the freedom to charge based on what I know each project should cost. So, I’ll be using the rates Nabeel shared in the group as my guide. And this one is paid in GBP. 🥹 My first task is to improve the copy for one of their presentations. I’m unsure what to charge for this one since we’re already working on a per-project basis instead of hourly. 😅

If you've done the Hourly Rate Calculator spreadsheet in The Business of Copywriting you have a good idea how much to charge for the project.

@Nonalee Eilon Alipda The video I shared in the comments is from List Boss. That will help once you know your minimum hourly rate. You need to watch the Freelancer Pricing Playbook, and do the exercise
Routine For Success
Hi, Couple of days ago, I decided to go all in on Creative Strategy. However, currently I'm overwhelmed. I want to divide my time into 3 parts: 1. Consuming content 2. Practicing my writing 3. Client acquisition I'm trying to balance this along with a full-time job and family. This leaves me with 3-4 hours on weekdays. Here are my questions: If I had to set certain KPIs for myself every single day, what would be a good metric to ensure that it will help me succeed if consistency is taken care of? If I give 2 hours for consuming content, 1 hour for outreach, and then 1 hour for practicing - is that good enough?

By now you should have finished both the Copywriting Fundamentals course AND the chapters I've uploaded for The Creative Strategist's Handbook. It would have taken you 3 to 4 hours on one day if you watched the videos on 1.5X to 2X speed. And you should have moved on to implementation/practice so we can start giving you feedback. So I don't know what the point of this question is. Stop fucking around and get to work.
The missing piece that takes your copy from good to GREAT
I wrote an email a few days ago. It had valuable insights. But something was off about it. I finished the email and sent it anyway. Then I saw this email shared on Twitter. It's from a Sorority chapter president to her sisters. And I realized what was off about my email. It's the missing piece that takes copy from good to great. And it was staring me in the face the whole time. But when you've been doing something for so long you sometimes miss the obvious. I want you to read this email and reflect on what's happening to you as you read it. When you're done, leave a comment below with your thoughts. And tell me what you think the missing piece is. QUOTE If you just opened this like I told you to, tie yourself down to whatever chair you’re sitting in, because this email is going to be a rough fucking ride. For those of you that have your heads stuck under rocks, which apparently is the majority of this chapter, we have been FUCKING UP in terms of night time events and general social interactions with Sigma Nu. I’ve been getting texts on texts about people LITERALLY being so fucking AWKWARD and so fucking BORING. If you’re reading this right now and saying to yourself “But oh em gee Julia, I’ve been having so much fun with my sisters this week!”, then punch yourself in the face right now so that I don’t have to fucking find you on campus to do it myself. I do not give a flying fuck, and Sigma Nu does not give a flying fuck, about how much you fucking love to talk to your sisters. You have 361 days out of the fucking year to talk to sisters, and this week is NOT, I fucking repeat NOT ONE OF THEM. This week is about fostering relationships in the greek community, and that’s not fucking possible if you’re going to stand around and talk to each other and not our matchup. Newsflash you stupid cocks: FRATS DON’T LIKE BORING SORORITIES. Oh wait, DOUBLE FUCKING NEWSFLASH: SIGMA NU IS NOT GOING TO WANT TO HANG OUT WITH US IF WE FUCKING SUCK, which by the way in case you’re an idiot and need it spelled out for you, WE FUCKING SUCK SO FAR. This also applies to you little shits that have talked openly about post gaming at a different frat IN FRONT OF SIGMA NU BROTHERS. Are you people fucking retarded? That’s not a rhetorical question, I LITERALLY want you to email me back telling me if you’re mentally slow so I can make sure you don’t go to anymore night time events. If Sigma Nu openly said “Yeah we’re gonna invite Zeta over”, would you be happy? WOULD YOU? No you wouldn’t, so WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU DO IT TO THEM?? IN FRONT OF THEM?!! First of all, you SHOULDN’T be post gaming at other frats, I don’t give a FUCK if your boyfriend is in it, if your brother is in it, or if your entire family is in that frat. YOU DON’T GO. YOU. DON’T. GO. And you ESPECIALLY do fucking NOT convince other girls to leave with you.
