@Mike Trader I believe it is still charged, I don't think it dumped out when it blew it's plug, though I haven't fully checked yet, don't have the equipment to do so. I'll get the acid tester to see how that comes out, then go from there on what to do with the lines. I found one compressor that is the same as the one that was in my system that is claimed to be an overstock item. I would just need to get the equipment to evacuate the system, and if I can reuse the refrigerant, charge it back up after replacement. I would also need to get equipment to braze the lines, which I have no experience doing myself. No fear in me just releasing to the atmosphere, wouldn't do that intentionally for sure. As for the duct-sizing, I wondered about that, but haven't looked into that yet. I debated on up-sizing, are you thinking only a half ton upgrade on the condensing unit itself? Since it is a 1.5 ton but the air handler is a 2 ton. So much to do, and so tired of these hot days, it's like a sauna in here today because it didn't cool enough last night, and higher humidity for here with little air movement... Thanks for your insights.
