Despite all of today’s set backs from weather, to fatherhood, to temporary hot water outages in my building, I still went to the gym and got a good workout in along with some meal prepping. The next goal is sleep.
INTRO: Aaron
Standard I failed to enforce: A lack of a system. Although I‘m in a position fortunate enough to be able to go to the gym everyday, it would never lead me to the results I actually wanted to see for myself. This excess of working out also stole time away from being social or even continuing my learning due to the constant fear of losing the progress I made with this skewed routine. Where I drifted: There‘s times where social events would come up or even when I got tired and/or sick that would completely pull apart the system I had going on (even if it was a bad system to begin with). This would snowball into days or even weeks of putting workouts to the side, delaying them further and further where progress inevitably restarts when I decide to try it all again. What “locked in” looks like now: A system where my time is scheduled as a “ meeting-by-meeting“ basis along with a nutrition plan that helps me hit my protein target everyday. Even though there’s still periods where I have free time, at least now I’m able to get back into being more social and continue learning all while prioritizing my health & well-being. This room will help me consistently enforce change and avoid the cycle of restarting I used to have going on.

It amazes me how much we’re all the same. It’s almost like Eron has heard it all before. Those social events get me most times too.
Intro Nate
I’ve been failing to enforce the standard of having a standard and consistency. I don’t even post a lot but I drift on social media and can waste valuable time scrolling and occasionally commenting. What “locked in” looks like to me is consistent progress in the right direction and by right direction I mean no wasted effort. Every workout, every meal, every choice counts. To me, that how you build sustainable habits.
EXAMPLE: INTRO — Eron
Standard I failed to enforce: Consistency when no one was watching. When I first quit working corporate full time, I found it so easy to do what was 'just enough' to keep everything afloat (physique, coaching, etc). I learned that I could easily lock in under pressure, but then as soon as that was removed, I would slowly let my standards for myself slide until eventually my structure disappeared. Where I drifted: When something unexpected would come up and push back my schedule by even as little as an hour. That would be enough to throw me over the edge and I'd tell myself that alright, lets aim for a perfect day tomorrow. And would use that inconvenience to justify not knowing what I knew I should be doing to keep chasing after my mission. It wasn't because I didn’t know what to do — but because nothing forced me to actually follow-through. What “locked in” looks like now: Non-negotiable structure. Working out 4-5x per week and hitting my protein target everyday. 200g+ minimum. Doesn't matter if I'm in Toronto or in France, this is a non-negotiable for me. This is what I built my discipline, my structure and my systems around. As much as I love to negotiate with myself, my standards don’t change anymore based on my mood, schedule, or motivation. This has only been possible due to having the right systems in place. This room exists to remove the option to drift — for me and for everyone here.
