A lot of us think we've handed something off just because someone else is doing it, when really, we're still the one remembering it needs doing, when it's due, and reminding them to do it. That's not delegating. That's just still carrying it, with extra steps. The lesson: Real delegation means the whole thing moves, not just the task, but the remembering, the timing, the follow-through. If you're still the one going "did you?", you're still the system. Try this instead: Next time you hand something off, don't set a reminder for them. Let it be theirs to remember, even if it means it slips once. That's how you find out if it's actually been delegated, or if you're just quietly still in charge of it. 💛
