It will depend on your usecase. For me, proxmox is helpful on my development server but as soon as docker environment with the webapp is complete and ready for test and acceptance by the client, I will deploy it to a VPS with my provider and will run it it from there. I usually run about several high performance VPS and a few smaller performances VPS, depending on the size and capacity of the client website. All vps run ubuntu LTS server the applications run in a docker container. No proxmox. Everything is managed through SSH.
