Happy to be here!
New here! Anytime I enter a new group I try my best to give first and share anything I know. So, I figured I'd introduce myself by giving out the thing I would have wanted when we started. I'm Cale. I run an RIA, and for the last couple of years a lot of our growth has come from cold email rather than just referrals. It took 11 months and about $10K before it worked, and most of that was spent learning things the hard way that somebody could have just told me. So I wrote all of it down — the campaigns we actually run, 500 templates written for advisors, the research process we go through before entering a new niche, the follow-up, and the things we got wrong. It's totally free, and hopefully it helps some of you bring on new clients and help more people. If you're trying to grow without waiting on referrals, or want something to run alongside your other marketing, this guide should save you about 11 months, haha: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Pg0Ns-67kuODP_IKAV9hIvWsYGEZN7xbWF4T4FlR-jo/edit?usp=sharing If you're already running your own marketing and you've found things that work, I'd love to trade notes and learn what's working for you!

Really cool info. I like that you shared that it took time and wasn't cheap. I always want to be realistic with our clients of what they can expect. Marketing works but it requires a lot of patience and funds. If you want faster and better results, that will require more funds. Pretty much the same as with any product or service in life. This is an excellent example of being more specific in messaging: Instead of Dentists. A better option is: orthodontist practice owners making more than $500k revenue annually. Strategy 12 is, as you mentioned, tricky. I, for one, would advise against this method. I've seen strategy six work really well lately, so long as it is personalized. People can tell when it sounds like it is generic and sent to hundreds of others. Great research you shared! I enjoyed reading through it.
Future Proof - Speaker Submission
Hello everyone. I recently worked on a submission for an advisor to speak at Future Proof. I was wondering if anyone here has been through the process and if you ever hear back from the team if either they want to have you speak or if they "appreciate your time" but not going to proceed.

Jump vs. Zocks
Hello all. I am doing some research for a client who is looking into Jump or Zocks. I have been down a few rabbit holes and wondering any thoughts and opinions here on either of these platforms. I also heard a lot about Quin.

@Dom Henderson very very true. I do think that user experience is the first barrier to overcome, which is what my client was alluding to (after some more back and forth). Kind of like peeling an onion sometimes but I absolutely agree that you need to have a plan/goals in place on what you want to achieve when using any sort of tool.

Ep 46. The daily walk to the trash... from the mailbox
with @Steve Abbett of Nexruto.com In this final podcast of Season 1, we dive deep into mailboxes and seminars and closing rates... but not because Steve *loves* direct mail, but because... it just works. Here's the math: - 10,000 mailers - 50 registrants - 25 attendees - 2-8 million new AUM $20k-$80k in ARR from a $10k investment - would you take that deal?

Very interesting. I know plenty of advisors who built their businesses on seminars pre Covid and now they have been expressing a challenge in making these happen so I found this interesting. I do believe the power of print marketing, when done right, the ROI is great! Emphasis on when done right.

Great conversation. I would say that just because someone is visible and "popular" on LinkedIn, or any social platform, doesn't mean they are nice or even do business in an ethical way. Value. It all seems to be coming to value. People want to feel valued.
