Spent a few weeks rebuilding my personal site based on feedback from here, and honestly it taught me a lot about what actually converts vs what just looks nice. Few things I learned that actually made a difference: 1. Proof beats everything else Spent way too much time thinking about colors, fonts, design details. But the second I added real case studies with specific numbers (4→19 bookings, 100% call handling, 30K impressions), the whole thing started feeling credible. People don't care if your hero section is dark or light, they care if you can actually deliver. 2. Fast outcomes hit different Every project now leads with the result, not the story. "Dental Clinic Booking System — 4x More Appointments" instead of burying the number in a paragraph. That one change made the whole page scannable. 3. Mobile-first wasn't optional Built desktop first, tested mobile after. Wrong order. Redid it mobile-first and suddenly everything became simpler and more focused because you can't hide behind fancy layouts on a phone. 4. Less sections = more conversions Wanted to add "About Me," "Services," "Skills," all that. Cut it down to: proof → what I'm building → contact. That's it. Anything else was noise. 5. One clear next step works WhatsApp button stands out, email as backup. Not trying to be everywhere. Just made it stupidly obvious how to reach out.
