Facing IT! The Gravity of Responsibility
Facing IT! – The Gravity of Responsibility One of the hardest truths I've had to face is that I cannot help everyone. There are people who need the knowledge I've gained through experience. Sometimes I know exactly what to say or do that could make their journey easier. My willingness has never been the problem. Time has. At first, I felt guilty for saying no. It seemed selfish to protect my schedule when someone else was struggling. But then I started thinking about our solar system. The Sun doesn't chase the planets. It doesn't spend all of its energy warming Mercury because it's the closest, nor does it ignore Neptune because it's the farthest away. Instead, the Sun remains constant. Its gravity holds every planet in its proper place, while its light provides the warmth that makes life possible on Earth. If the Sun abandoned its balance to focus entirely on one planet, the entire solar system would become unstable. Life works much the same way. If I allow every request for help to pull me away from my own responsibilities, eventually I'll lose the very foundation that allows me to help anyone. My work suffers. My family receives less of me. My health declines. The goals I've been called to pursue begin drifting out of orbit. Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is remain faithful to the responsibilities already placed in our care. That doesn't mean we stop helping people. It means we help in ways that don't cause everything else to drift apart. The Sun teaches an important lesson: influence doesn't come from chasing everything around you. It comes from remaining steady enough that others can depend on your presence. Facing it means accepting that every "yes" costs something. And every "no" protects something. Wisdom is learning the difference. Not everyone is meant to become the center of your universe. Sometimes your greatest gift is simply remaining strong enough that, when the right moment comes, your light is still there to guide someone home. @Bert Russell from what I see you are definitely a writer Mr. BERT
WHAT ARE YOUR CHALLENGES?
Most writers don’t struggle because they lack ideas. They struggle because they’ve been staring at the same manuscript for so long that they can no longer see what’s working and what’s weakening the story. Sometimes the pacing feels off but you can’t explain why. Sometimes the dialogue sounds right in your head but flat on the page. Sometimes you know a chapter is missing something, but you can’t identify it. That’s a normal part of the writing process. I’m curious: What’s been the hardest part of writing your current book? Is it: • pacing • character development • consistency • editing • finishing the manuscript • self-doubt • publishing • something else entirely? Writers, drop your biggest challenge below. I’d love to hear what stage you’re currently navigating.

For me it's been consistency. I always find myself drifting off of the main points I want to make.

Transgressions
Anger is a river I cannot cross, A fractured mosaic, with fragments of glass strewn atop the bottom of its bed, tiptoeing into it’s imperceptible depth my every breath focusing on the next step, light as a feather, one foot, then the other; Screaming violently silent inside, internally steaming, boiling over the stream and seeping through skin in tones, demanding tunes my voice struggles to stay ahead of, a pairing of notes from a mandolin with the stoicism of a mannequin to preserve what humanity remains unblemished, to preserve the small semblances of peace; Piece by piece I am picking and sifting through the shatter, shifting tinier and tinier shards with sharper edges and watching air oxidize what is within before forcing itself out between small scratches, bleeding into the river and skewing its color like a palette to paint with.

Sit in The stillness And witness The earth Breathing Around you The feeling Is so profound Taking it all in The wind It speaks To us. It can Become A realization That the Calmness Felt from The summers breeze Can put us at ease Understanding that The breath Of the earth Is the ones who Left to soon. It is many Souls that Carry us This Is The BIGGER. The one we Look to In fear. But they Are letting Us know they Are near.
