I'm thrilled to announce we have a new Selah member! @Grace Marty ! Let's welcome her in 🥰 This group grows because women in it decide to make room for each other, and value this space. Feel free to share what Selah Wellness has done for you or what your favorite Selah Social Club event has been so far! We look forward to moving forward on this journey with you Grace. Glad you're here. 💜

10 Minute Stress Inventory
Before we can change what's stressing us out, we need to know what is actually taking up space. Grab a piece of paper—or use your notes app. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Write down everything currently occupying your mental space. Don't organize it. Don't make it pretty. Just brain-dump. Think about: •Family •Home •Work •School •Activities •Relationships •Health •Finances •Appointments •Errands •Things you're procrastinating •Things you're worried about •Things you feel guilty about •Things you think you “should” be doing Now look at your list. Put a ⭐ beside everything that is actually your responsibility. Put a → beside things you can influence but cannot completely control. Put an 🚫 beside things that are not yours to control. This is important. Because sometimes we spend enormous amounts of emotional energy trying to manage things that were never ours to manage in the first place. Your only job today isn't to fix anything. It's to see it. We'll work with the list next week. Share one thing you discovered during your inventory: “I didn't realize ________ was taking up so much space in my mind.”

I didn’t realize how many things that is not mine to control was taking up so much space in my mind.
Welcome To The Rabbit Hole🐇
Welcome to something new inside Selah Wellness! I’ve been wanting to create a space for us to learn, think, wonder and explore—not necessarily about the things you’d expect to find in a Christian wellness community. So welcome to The Rabbit Hole. Each month, we’re going to choose something fascinating to explore together. It might be a book, documentary, movie, podcast, scientific idea, cultural phenomenon, historical story or even a controversial topic. It doesn't have to be Christian. Actually, I think some of the most interesting conversations happen when we take an idea from the world around us and ask: What do we think about this? And what does our faith have to say about it? This isn't about finding the "right" answer or forcing Scripture onto every topic. It's about becoming women who are curious, thoughtful and discerning—women who can engage with ideas, culture and the world around us while remaining rooted in Christ. Think of it as your monthly invitation to go down the rabbit hole with us. 🐇 And for our very first one we're going to explore the book Dopamine Nation. I know not everyone is a reader, so if you can, grab the audiobook and listen along. You will also find the resources for all of our Rabbit Hole Topics in the Classroom. Our Rabbit Hole Theme will also be pinned at the top of the page so if you'd like to have start a conversation or contribute, please comment under this post specifically to keep the community chat from become too chaotic.

@Holly Hallwachs I bought the book and will start this week to read. Looking forward to this read and what changes I need to make. Thanks for suggesting this book.
Being present
On the topic of multitasking, I am reminded how often I rush through things. I rush to make my morning coffee, to make the breakfast, to make the lunches, to get the kids up, get myself ready, to get out the door all while looking around at my very untidy home i’m feeling the stress rise. I’m starting new today. I’m actually sitting enjoying my coffee and reading my scripture. I don’t know about you but my husband and I are coffee snobs. One of our favorite kind is Kicking Horse coffee, which we got in BC when we were in Invermere this summer. There’s something to be said about a really good cup of coffee and I’m reminded of the quiet moments while on holiday and how I can bring those back into my everyday home life... What is your favorite drink to sit and enjoy from the first sip to the last sip? I hope you find that today and stop multitasking, for once in your day.

@Lindsay Clausen love this post!! I am a coffee snob as well. Kicking Horse coffee is definitely one of our favourite beans to French press and enjoy together as a couple.
