I recommend get a solid used lenovo thinkpad and put mint on it. The thing you're likely to "miss" the most is things like excel. But there are various levels of replacements. There will be all kinds of new California whack legislation (AB1043,1856) around OS's very soon, linux/unix will be the only way to engage in "normal" computing

@Shane McGrath yeah if you have idle hardware - its a no brainer. With mint the setup should take you less than an hour (probably 15-30 mins)

This kind of scenario is exactly why I haven't ever used Hermes or OpenClaw or even Grok Bot with any kind of email or communication channel. I like that the author is at least ATTEMPTING to make his course, and organization relevant in the AI context -- but - his article strikes me as mostly obvious. The real lift would be - to answer - why is the author still relevant ?
