COMMUNITY CHECK IN
EquityCommand is continuing to grow. The classroom is being built step by step. New lessons and practical training are being added. I want to learn more about every member so I can make the training useful for different experience levels. Comment below with your answers: 1. What is your current level of real estate experience? 2. Which property type interests you most? 3. What is your main real estate goal? 4. Which subject do you need the most help with right now? 5. Would you attend a weekly live Deal Lab? You do not need to be an expert to participate. This community is a place to ask questions and strengthen your judgment. Your answers will help shape future lessons and live sessions.

@Olamiposi Temidayo Hi! How are you doing?
Hey everyone 👋
Excited to be joining the EquityCommand Acquisition Mastery community! I’m looking forward to learning more about real estate acquisitions, deal analysis, underwriting, and how experienced investors evaluate opportunities with a disciplined approach. There’s a lot of value in learning how to identify the right deals, understand risk, and make better decisions before taking action. Looking forward to connecting with everyone here, learning from your experiences, and contributing where I can 🚀 What’s one thing you always check first when evaluating a potential acquisition?

@William Duke Thanks William, this is a great perspective. I like the evidence-first mindset because it shifts the focus from chasing opportunities to truly understanding the risk, assumptions, and reasons behind a deal. A lot of deals can look attractive on paper, but the ability to validate the numbers and know when to walk away is what separates good acquisitions from costly mistakes. I’m curious when you’re reviewing a potential acquisition, which area usually reveals the most important insights early on: the market data, financials, or the property condition?

That’s a great perspective, Aldo. I like that you start with the exit and basis because it shows the importance of understanding the deal from the bigger picture before getting into the details. I’m curious, what usually makes you immediately question a deal when you first look at the exit strategy or the basis? Is there one thing you always look for that tells you a deal might not work?
Class Update
I’m currently working through the courses and classes, building everything out carefully and making sure the material is complete, organized, and useful for you as operators. I’m taking my time to do it right rather than rushing it out—the full curriculum will be finished as I complete each section.

@William Duke That’s actually the part I’m personally most excited to learn. My goal is to eventually analyse real commercial properties with confidence, so understanding how experienced operators look at the numbers and decide whether a deal is worth pursuing is something I really want to master. What would you say is the first thing I should focus on when learning to analyse a deal?

@William Duke That really resonates with me, William. I don’t just want to memorise formulas either I want to understand how to look at a property and know why the numbers lead to a buy, pass, or a deeper investigation. That operator mindset is exactly what I’m hoping to develop. When you first started, what helped you develop that ability to understand a property beyond just looking at the numbers?
