Fix The Mix.
The last few weeks have been very difficult with surgery and chemotherapy. Fix The Mix was just what the doctor ordered. Watching Kevin work his magic and Caleb being the inspiration he is was truly a godsend. What a wonderful community to be a part of, thank you, Stewart.

I have a question about saturation and low-end translation. Since small speakers like phones often cannot reproduce very low frequencies, is one of the reasons we use saturation on bass or kick elements to create harmonics that make the low-end more audible on those systems? How do you decide when to use saturation for this purpose, and what are the best practices for applying it without making the low-end muddy or distorted?

For me, it was learning music theory, especially chord progressions so i could create my own harmonies. I wish i had learned it much earlier.

Hello, I’m Paula from the Netherlands. My musical background is mainly in musical theatre and classical singing. A few years ago, I wrote my very first song for my husband while he was recovering from illness. With the help of a producer, the song was arranged and recorded. I absolutely loved being in the studio, and that experience made me realize that I wanted to learn more about songwriting, recording, mixing, and mastering myself. I’m very excited to be part of this community and deeply grateful to everyone who made this way of learning possible.
