Hola a todos 👋🇪🇸 I'll be in Madrid this month (one of my favourite cities in Europe). Are any of you based in Madrid? If you visit, I recommend visiting Mercado de San Fernando (see pic) instead of the more famous el Mercado de San Miguel (less touristy, cheaper and a little more authentic!) Many of you have told me that your main goal with Spanish is to speak more confidently and naturally. So to help with that, I’m going to start sharing a short daily post in this group with useful, real Spanish you can actually use when speaking (without overwhelming you). Here’s today’s mini speaking boost 👇 🧠 Word of the Day aprovechar: to make the most of This is a very common verb in spoken Spanish. Por ejemplo, "Voy a aprovechar el tiempo para practicar español." 💬 Phrase of the Day 👇 Me da igual: I don’t mind This is extremely useful in conversations. In English I guess we'd say I don't mind to be polite, and I don't care is a little more abrupt. If you want to say the latter in Spanish, you can say "no me importa" Por ejemplo, "Me da igual si hablamos ahora o más tarde." ✍️ Grammar Tip for Speaking Some of you have told me you already speak French. Unlike French, remember that in Spanish, you can drop the subject pronoun, so you don’t need yo, tú, él/ella, nosotros etc (usually). The verb already shows who is speaking.
