October 2026 releases
This week my Release Radar was full of new music from guitarwavers, so here is the next round-up. "minouski" by @Sebastian Jautschus: Once again great sound design, with interesting layers and textures. You just float along. https://open.spotify.com/track/0AfFLupRaWuBhOKczvRqxR "We Had Everything" by Friend from Work/@Peter Monrad: A song that feels like a journey, and those swell sounds are wonderful. https://open.spotify.com/track/5gxc3SgUKEnzNq7ZXakNEW "Before You Arrived" by @Nathaniel Graham and @Rebecca Mardal: I had been waiting for this collaboration 😊 Congratulations on a beautiful track! https://open.spotify.com/track/5PD0l2qxxAvXD9Gw8fZkFT And today I released "The Widest View", an acoustic piece I wrote this summer in the Austrian Alps, below the 'Wilder Kaiser': https://open.spotify.com/track/4VqoYaPQqxomZUWv6Jvt10 This time I tried something new alongside the release. I separated the stems of the track and built a small listening page around them. You look through a telescope at the mountain panorama, and two guitars are hidden somewhere in the view. On a phone, the telescope follows as you move it, so you can simply turn around until you find them. Best with headphones 🎧 https://widestview.chasingreverbs.com/inside/ Feel free to add to the list if you put something out too 🎸

Thanks for the roundup and the kind words. Many great tracks!
A couple of questions about (re)posting and strings
Hey guys. Hope creativity is flowing all around the community. I have a couple of questions... 1) Do you ever repost a reel or TikTok-video perhaps with a different caption if you feel like it was ment to get more likes and interaction? If so do you delete the old one or just post it again? 2) What time of day do you post videos to get most views. I usually post around 20 pm (Danish time), but think maybe it should be earlier? 3) Does anyone use flatwounds on their guitars? I have a friend here in Copenhagen with flat wounds on his guitar and all the squeaks from the strings are completely gone which does seem pretty nice. Lastly I just want to say specifically to @Sebastian Jautschus that his track 'tomorrow' is such a pleasure to listen to. So many interesting ping pong delays, panning, tremolo panning ?, normal delays, noises and so on. Would love to see a breakdown of that sometime.

@Martin Eibisch hey Martin. Track sounds lovely and very ‘woody’ in a really nice way. And I think there’s still enough top. I have flatwounds on one of my basses (a Mustang), so I’m pretty use to how that feels al though it’s a little different with the thicker strings and not doing chords.

@Sebastian Jautschus Thanks for the replies (to your wife to). It’s really helpful and I think I’ll experiment a bit more especially on TikTok. And I kinda like most of the squeaks too. In this AI age I’m really moving towards keeping everything that sounds human and not try and ‘perfect’ and polish things too much. See you on the call soon.

after moving, getting married, and finishing a big work project, I have time again to be more active in the community … and as you know me, when my motivation hits, I'm overflowing with ideas. but I want to build this community together. so let's decide what we'll do more of in the future. below you can vote on what you'd like to prioritize. if you have multiple favorites, please rank them in the comments. looking forward to being more active and social in here again. relaxed energy 🦦 PS: one free mentoring slot open. through regular 1-on-1 calls or video feedback, I help you with my full attention to become a better guitarwaver. if you're interested, shoot me a dm. first come, first serve. PPS: also how fun is this new camera setup :) who spotted the otter?

@Sebastian Jautschus thanks for chipping in. First of all I think that episode regarding your own would be really interesting. And regarding the streams they’re are also pretty much the same. At the moment they are just below 90.000 pr month. It’s been quite a bit higher at certain times.

@Sebastian Jautschus yeah I can definitely do a call on the 26th. That would be awesome.
Let's talk about ghost artists 👻
@Brian Hennessey recently made an interesting discovery when his track Lifted landed on the high-reach Spotify editorial playlist "Deep Focus" (see https://www.instagram.com/p/DZ5ahDUCaiH/). The rumors about so-called "ghost artists" and the term "Perfect Fit Content" (PFC) used internally by Spotify were already uncovered some time ago in Liz Pelly's book Mood Machine. What I've been missing since then is quantifiable evidence about how common these artists actually are in major playlists. To shed some light on this, I've spent the last few days building a tool with Claude Code to identify the "ghosts". I'm currently cross-checking the results with Brian and wanted to share them with you. Full methodology and results are in the HTML file below. 👇🏼 If you know of other suspicious playlists you'd like me to run through the tool, or if you have tips and ideas on how to improve the detection methodology, I'd love to hear your feedback. 🎸

Hey Martin. Thanks for putting in some investigative work! I also read Liz’ book and the whole book thing is just crazy. How about this playlists? That’s often recommended as listening whenever I enter one of our profiles on Spotify. Together with Deep Focus of course. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DXaf6XmhwlgC6?si=09GDyx9LSEePpi7Ro51dkg&utm_source=copy-link&pi=y7GUMdWLQKuNl

@Martin Eibisch thanks for info! And good point about the ai at the end. It looks like Spotify will be doing a lot in regards to labeling ai and also not including in radio plays and so on from sometime September, but if this music isn’t ai, just ghost artist, it probably won’t really matter for us.
welcome buddy! introduce yourself + share a pic of your guitar 🎸🦦
let's get to know each other. comment below, sharing a photo of your (current fav) guitar, how you got into making instrumental guitar music, and maybe what you do besides making music. I'm happy to have you here 🫶🏼 PS: oh also please feel free to link your music! PPS: there's also an app of Skool btw. which makes keeping up with what's happening in here a little easier.

@Jane Annoff Hey Jane. That one is my telecaster on the neck pickup for the intro main guitar arpeggio and then the same tele on the bridge pickup for the theme with a Strymon Flint tremolo on as well. But my Strat could sound very similar.
