Doing Videos
Who does videos online? Here are my five tips. Feel free to add yours: 1. Do multiple takes. This way you can pick your best one. 2. Brainstorm ideas before you shoot. Script, rewrite. 3. Your third punchline is your best one. (Mitch Hedberg said this once to a comic). 4. Dress camera ready 5. Ignore negative feedback from people. Free comments are free. Keep going. Now like I said, add yours

Go LIVE! on YouTube/Tiktok etc its great practice. PLUS you can monitor your own mouth in the phone screen as you do the show.

Kids Who Are Afraid of Your Puppets
Sometimes kids get afraid of the puppets. Whenever this happens, I always stop the show and demonstrate the puppet is a puppet. This puts the little ones at ease. And I also give them a tiny ventriloquist lesson too. Have any of you encountered this and how did you combat it?

There are enough adults also freaked out by my Charles but in my case as part of an adult show - its all part of the fun

Once I was prepping charles in a tiny store room being used as a green room when a fellow performers walked in - he virtually screamed with fright/-

High Tech or Low Tech
Do you like a figure with a lot of eye/head/hand movement or do you like simple and low tech? I’m in the middle of the road on this one. Weigh in, family

Audiences are not impressed with high tech figures anymore as theres so much robotic automation available. I think these days folks like to see how a simple figure or even a sock can come to life with your skill

i need material, I have potential gigs lined up but my act needs to be comedy club standard funny ! No good just being good technically in my opinion.

If you dont have your figure with you then you are not in character! unlike a comedian who might always be expected to be funny . Leave you figure in the cabin .
