Wins outside of the gym 💪🏻
Some wins are not defined by a weight we can lift, a distance we can run or a number on a scale. Some wins are real life moments that remind us in real time how far we have come. Today I had a real time win at work. Btw did I ever mention that my part time work was at a bbq selling sausages 🤔😂 Anyways carrying heavy boxes and gas bottles is a job I normally leave for the men but they were all stuck at their own task. So I told myself, „Give it a try and if it’s not working no problem!“ Lifted that freaking gas bottle, felt the weight pulling on my fingers but my ego was too big to put it back down. Walked all the way through the shop out to the bbq and only then set it back down. Wohoo first time I managed that 💪🏻😁 It sure isn’t an ordinary win but it counts for me as I see my strength improve and I‘m proud of myself for trying in the first place!

Proof You Can Still Surprise Yourself 💪🏽
Today was one of those days where I genuinely wasn’t feeling 100%. 🤧 I’ve been feeling a little under the weather and, if I’m honest, the tiredness was definitely there. The easy option would have been to stay home, rest and tell myself I’d go tomorrow. But I felt well enough to train, so I went. 💪🏽 Not because I felt amazing or had loads of energy, but because I know how much the gym does for me — physically AND mentally. And then something I absolutely wasn’t expecting happened… I GOT 6 PBs! 😳🔥 On a day when I was tired and feeling a bit rough! Obviously, there’s a difference between being a little under the weather and actually being ill — I’m not about ignoring what my body is telling me or training when I genuinely need rest. But today, I felt okay to go, and I’m so glad I did. Progress isn’t always about smashing every session. Sometimes you just need to give yourself the opportunity to surprise yourself. I could have stayed on the sofa. Instead, I walked into the gym and walked out with 6 PBs. 😂🔥 Maybe I had more in the tank than I thought! I'll take that!

Sounds like my morning today, I didn’t want to go as my body is coming down with something. Did it anyways, no better start of the day. We don’t really know our strength until we start to workout. Amazing @Usra Shah on your PRs! 👏🏻🔥
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect
Yesterday was supposed to be my strength day at 24 Hour Fitness, but life happened. I needed to take my dad to his ophthalmology appointment and adjust my work schedule to start earlier. I could have sacrificed sleep to squeeze everything in, but I decided sleep and recovery needed to be the priority. So I adapted and went to F45 instead. After strength, Coach Inna challenged me to do 30 wall balls. Were they perfect? Nope. 😂 But I did them, and every week I get another opportunity to practice the movement, slow it down, work on my technique, and become more efficient. I shared my wall ball challenge with Coach Dave, and he sent this reminder: “Practice doesn’t make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect.” – Vince Lombardi Such a good reminder going into HYROX training. It’s easy to get caught up in reps, speed, weight, and finishing faster. But sometimes the biggest progress comes from slowing down enough to learn how to move better. Consistency isn’t always following the original plan. Sometimes it’s adapting the plan and still executing. 🔥

@Aaron Wong that’s a good one! Need to remember that
It would be nice to get in a different boat
Why does stress always manifest itself physically? Why can’t stress just stay a mental game? It’s so annoying? At a certain point this elevated stress has been causing me some real irritating physical symptoms. Besides the constant need to sleep I have been struggling with other physical issues that have made me slow down a little. I am fine with it, but I will not be knocked down! Much of my mental health and stress relief relies on my consistent workout schedule. I have to keep going! Also helpful, I had some honest conversations with some loved ones last week which also seemed to relieve a little of my stress. Sometimes holding on to everyone to keep them in the boat became my responsibility! Actually, if you are an adult, it’s your responsibility to keep yourself in the boat! If you insist on jumping ship and trying to swim to shore during a storm… good luck to you! We all make our own choices! And right now, I am off to lift heavy shit! Have a great day all! (Or night if that is where you are)

Keeping everyone together is tough and an indescribable mental load! 😫 @Jaime Stewart Listen to your body and do what gets you a compensation for all responsibility. Whether it’s lifting heavy shit or a relaxing day, you can do it! 🥰

Hi
Hey, I’m here because I want to lose weight sustainably. I especially want to keep it off. And with meds I’m on, I struggle to lose weight. Does anyone else struggle with med weight?
